Read about this on Yahoo Finance so I did a quick trade. Bought 20 contracts SJR @ 9:46 today Strike $20 call .35. Saw on my charts that there would be a fast move to the $20 point. Set an alert for $20 and sold @ 9:52 for .50. Think I'll watch this one off and on for a while.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Strike $140.00 call @9:39, 10 contracts @$3.85 Sold @ $5.85 @ 11:31. Going to lunch now because there is this great sandwich shop in town and I want one! LOL...by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
I don't do W/O. I practiced it and didn't like it. I did better trading. Before I buy any stocks right now to keep and pass on to family I want a better and steady market. This market is way to "jittery". Those stocks I would buy however would be ones that paid a great dividend.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
I've been playing reversals right now and not waiting on E because of the crazy market we have been in. Today (12/17) @ 12:29 I entered a Put on BA. I got in @ 5.85. I sold about 10 minutes before the close @ 11.65. Bought 5 contracts. Yes I AM HAPPY! I might be finished for this week.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
YES! With this market so NUTS a good stock to watch is BA off of ANY China news. Love those trades. Yesterday I traded TWTR on a 35.5 PUT. Bought 20 contracts @ 1.45 and sold them @ 1.79. Watching today as this crazy market does worse than the riding horse on a merry-go-round. I hope all of you who are still among us on this board have a Merry Christmas. PS I am so glad there is an edit button onby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
NC Trader...I still use GW's 1-5 in everything I do. I am so very grateful to GW. The Trader's Almanac had 1 trade in there that I use every so often and it included almost everything from GW. That almanac helped with discipline.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
EARNINGS TRADER: In that Almanac you'll also find hints and ideas on ways to trade. I purchased these for several years. I don't any more. But I found them very helpful when I first started. Loads of info!by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Pastor P if you get larger monitors and use a multitude expect your trading area to get HOT. I have twin 20 inch in my office. My office is rather small...9x15 but it gets so hot in there I had to have a small window air conditioner installed. Our home AC simply couldn't keep this one room cool. If we turned it up the rest of the house would be freezing. I don't know what GW's new method requiresby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Thank You GameOver. Been studying this entire thing and how to trade for 14 years. Put in the time. Find what works for you AcquireCurrency and stick to what works for you. There is no easy path but once you find it, keep it. I use small charts. I like to get my money PDQ and I don't want anyone else to hang on to it. I was NEVER successful trading larger charts. I had a hard time sleeping. I usby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
My trade today IS yep BA! Still there. I bought a 352.50 PUT @ 10:06 for $4.55. & 5 contracts. I have stayed longer in this trade than what I normally do because it has lower volume therefore it moves slower. I'll share this; I was asked "Why do you trade small charts?" Okay I know I see things a little different. That's me. But for me to trade larger charts makes no sense. Iby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
I always messed up good and well in English class, oh well hum oh good???? Trading the Q's today did one practice trade (YES I still do those) and one real money. My practice trade was at 10:25 going down. Bought 10 contracts at 1.96 and sold them @ 10:29. I saw the chart changing so I jumped @ 10:47 real money and bought at $1.98 10 contacts and sold them @ 11:07 for 2.64. I think I'll call iby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
I know many of you have moved on to larger charts with GW. But S/O and I trade small charts. They suit us. I have NEVER liked anyone holding my money so I want my money PDQ! So here are a few hints to what we do. I mark my gaps on an 8 and 21, and 55 chart. I use the RAY line from Qcharts. I make it a dash. I mark the close, the open and the half way mark between the close and open. GAPS haveby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Over the years S/O and I have been able to increase the funds in our trading. So today my PEAK trade was on NFLX. bought 10 Puts @ 9:36 for $8.15 and sold them @ 9:39 for $9.65. Done for the day...maybe.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Beside keeping my information in a notebook I also liked Stock Trader's Almanac. You can find it at Amzn. It is by Jeffrey Hirsh and it comes out once a year about $30. Tons of information...by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Earnings is the past performance. Don't base a trade once announced. Wait until about 10:00 to see what really is going to happen. Earnings can stink but what the company says about what they expect in the next quarter is more important. Remember ALWAYS that S/O and I trade short charts. Watch the BB and moving averages. Look at GW's GREEN line...if flat stay away. You want it to ALSO beby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Thanks. It is a BB squeeze and has nothing to do with FP or HRFP. BB squeeze means a pop in the stock is coming and be prepared. Learn the earnings and you'll know the pop. As for LULU... Yep I did the trade above exactly as I mentioned because I knew LULU earnings and the squeeze. Go back and look at the 21 chart on LULU on 8/30. You will see a white candle close right on the 200by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
WELL??? 8/31/18 LULU up 19.66 off earnings. Did you trade it "long-fellows"? Could have bought after the pull back on August 22. Look at the squeeze on the 55 chart (for those of you who still use 55) Squeeze was happening on the 233 chart 8/17. And yes it is still the E strategy. Did I trade it? What IF I took my profit from my trade August 20th and bought half a position on 8/23 closby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Watch this Youtube video and then look at LULU on the 5, 8, 13, 55,233, and daily chart August 20, 2018. LULU reports earnings August 30th. I trade short charts. Where do YOU think LULU is heading? And Yes I traded LULU today. I bought @ the open Sept 130 strike. Using the SQUEEZE and moving averages ONLY..........by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
E strategy is a system my S/O came across through his studying charts, reading for countless hours and spending night after night scrolling through charts printing them out and going over and over trying to figure out why he lost on those trades. We did this together. Year after year after year we worked from 3AM (self-employed) setting up our lap-tops and trading when we could when the market woby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
August 7, 2018 ...You need to know dividends. Also understand that many day traders use the dividend to buy a stock that pays a higher dividend for a very short period of time. Thus a stock can actually go up and down (strangely) and even create a gap simply because of an upcoming dividend payout announcement. People who buy the stock simply for the dividend payout buy ahead of the payout andby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
In S/O's and my GW 1-5 class the only thing students asked was the OEX. Now don't laugh but the stock I liked was KMART. Yep I traded that thing in Dec as Sears was buying it. Yep a News trade and I did well. Not bragging just this suited me. My first real money trade was AAPL. About my 8th or 9th was GS. I lost GS and I took it out of my basket because I found I was always looking at it and nothby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
1) For those of you who think Qcharts is no longer available...wrong. Esignal is keeping Qcharts. I just had to download Qcharts on my new laptop. I wore my old one totally out, so much you can hardly read the A key. Burial to follow shortly! 2) For those of you who think you need every bell and whistle on Qcharts...wrong. You do not. You do not need everything GW has. Only keep what you use. Qby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Okay here we go again about a news trade. If you had the ability to listen to CNBC today July 26, 2018 you would have heard them announce an alert that Walmart dropped Synchrony and picked up someone else. (SYF) Well there goes a trade for S/O and I and we jumped on it. Bought 10 Aug 32 PUT @ $1.65 @ 1:30PM and sold @ 1:48 for $2.35. We used our Fibonacci charts (has Fibonacci moving averby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
So in GW's 1-5 we were taught about NEWS plays. Anyone ever go back there and re-read? The talking heads talked and talked and talked and talked and talked and talked and talked (get the hint?) about FB. I mean almost every single day!! Over and over and over and over and over and over...enough already! If you didn't get the hint you should have. FB was going D-O-W-N!!! Paying attention to theby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Oh thank you. I will pop in as I said. There are great folks here.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
In GW's 1-5 and over time S/O and I have learned how to apply nearly all of his techniques. Today we couldn't wait to get into one of them he called the Slam. Today (expiration Friday) July 17th, 2018 Netflix missed big time. Everyone expected that to be a huge drag on the Nasdaq. Well we all know what that would mean a pop down on the Q's. Right? A gap down. Some of you will remember I lby Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Thank you for the kind words. S/O and I trade almost every day. Traded today as a matter of fact. We still trade small charts and use the E. It just works best for us.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
I will stop by from time to time after my trades. I am glad you are back into the swing of things. Practice, practice and find what works for you. Not everyone is a trader. Some of us are investors. I was listening to a story a few days ago about a man who had worked all his life. He passed away and he had a will. He left his grandchildren millions of dollars. His neighbors were rather surprised.by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
Oh thank you! That means a lot. You will never know how much that touches me. I'll share with S/O who really found the E and taught me. He is my gem. I really stayed away because I just got over whelmed and just found my trading was falling off. I think simple is best. Too much stuff always seemed to make my bread fall! Know what I mean?by Darcy3 - Trading Discussion
There are so many things about trades to learn. I am a GW student but only 1-5 and advanced. S/O (husband) and I have been successful traders now for many years. We never hold our trades over night...ever. I can't help you with any of GW's new methods but I will share with you about what I see. But then hind sight is worth millions!
