Actually knowing how the markets and certain stocks move in and around known events is a good thing. Unfortunately we do not have enough recent history to make an informed decision. As you mentioned the last time this happened was just over 10 years ago . As for posting I create a snippet of my screen and save locally. I then use the website Robert suggested to upload. Darcy, Regarding the 100+ stock question I think you give yourself far too little credit. You took a system that, by your own admission, didn't really work for you originally. You lost many baskets, went back to the drawing board, read all the books, and now have something that works on timeframes that you are comfortable with and appear to be doing very well. I am sure if the 100 stock sugby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Sonic, I do use the TOS seasonality chart along side my TS set up to help gauge a potential move but only for confirmation. In the past I am guilty of getting too caught up in past history and expecting it to repeat exactly going forward. I think it is a nice to know and one of the reasons I originally subscribed to RTT. That said you do have to be careful. FB started trading in mid 2012.by NCTrader - Trading Discussion
No offense taken Simply pointing out the obvious that I assumed everyone already knew. The market stinks after the 10th, most of the time, for a reason. It has nothing to do with the upcoming FOMC meeting nor the fact that someone started writing down observations, put together a calendar and said so. Having an understanding of why that happens within context of current market conditions andby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I am in the camp with Richie and fireman but you make a very compelling argument. I do believe the upcoming FOMC meeting has the potential to be catalyst regardless of whether or not they raise rates. A hike is inevitable sometime in the foreseeable future and it could come a bit early. There is also the possibility of rebalancing or window dressing by fund managers over the next several weekby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Dave, Welcome to the forum and best of luck on your endeavor to start trading again. I can relate to your story as we started around the same, took the same classes, and I too set unrealistic expectations on how long it will take for this to work. I even stepped away for about two years during the mortgage meltdown due to the additional stress in my life. Long story but have been in that indby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I am certainly not an expert with TOS but one option you can use with the OnDemand feature is the "Step Forward" button if you do not have 2 hours to watch the entire day. Step Forward will push you forward in 10 minute increments. Not very helpful for those using 1, 3, 5, or 8 minute micro charts but if you use 13 minute and above or a bigger chart trader then Step Forward might helpby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Shannon, I resolved my problem with the earnings indicator and have an answer to your original question. 1. I have a 64 bit operating system but followed the installation steps exactly as described and by downloading the x86 visual c++ redistributable package. The instructions suggest the provided dll will not work without the aforementioned x86 package so that is what I loaded. 2. Myby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I use the LogMeIn Pro app on both my android phone and iPad when I have to. Most of the time I try to plan my trades so that I have access via a PC at certain times each day. For me it is easier to see my full PC screen shot at a reduced size via an app than actually attempting to run my charting software on a piece of hardware that has a reduced screen. I know it sounds crazy but it makes a dby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I am not the best to respond as I am learning and practicing Darcy's style using short charts and the "E" when time permits for summertime trading. I am more of a big chart guy. That said I will offer my two cents regarding some clues to be aware of on NFLX (as I see it). Take it in context of your own trading style and any other feedback offered. I was kind of surprised he attributed the saying to Confucius as the saying, as Will stated it, is mostly attributed to Henry Ford. That said I do believe you are correct in that it ultimately predates Mr. Ford.by NCTrader - Trading Discussion

Plan B... locate original source code. Solidus posted quite a bit of code in the community over the years. Prior to the TS free app he freely provided the code many times in the forum. Below is the code that appears to work fine in TS 9.5 v6. Still not sure why the app version shows as unverified. inputs: UPcolor(green), DNcolor(red), WICKcolor(black), WICKwidth(1), BODYwidth(3) ;by NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I do not recall the steps taken to add the earnings code. All I remember doing is following the instructions step-by-step exactly as described. I remember something about an x86 step knowing that I have 64 bit and briefly questioned myself but I did everything as instructed and it worked. That said my dates stopped updating a few weeks ago. FYI.. I had a few minutes today and decided to apply the 9.5 version 6 update to TS. Once installed the Solidus app no longer worked. After fooling around with it I finally contacted a TS specialist. The TS guy is getting the same error "Solidus... has not been verified". Since this is a private app there is no way for anyone other than the developer to resolve the issue by verifyinby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
FYI.. visual example of other easy possibilities. I am not currently using this but I tested setting up some of Darcy's stuff. The believe what I have circled is the type of set up Darcy is looking for across multiple charts: FP/HRFP with E signal occurring about the same time. In this case the FP/HRFP occurred on one candle and E on the very next. The red vertical line denotes FP/HRFP butby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Thanks Robert! Some of the die hard TS programmers would argue that TS Easy Language became its own self contained full fledged programming language a few years ago. I am not in a position to say. From what I read the original designer(s) based it on old Pascal. Most things are possible depending on ones level of commitment to learn. Quick snapshot of what it looks like depending on how you have RS configured. Pinkish color denotes 2 crossings on the particular chart. Bright green = 3 or more. The only thing you cannot see are the bright red for 3 or more down or pale green for 2 up.by NCTrader - Trading Discussion
For those that have asked below is a very basic FP/HRFP indicator (Analysis Technique) for TradeStation. As I stated I will not pretend to be an expert. Just stating what appears to be general consensus among professional premium sellers while doing my research. The guys at TT seem to agree. The longest amount of time you want is 50 to 60 days if selling. Ideally 35 to 45 days is best. If buying the inverse is true. I love 9.5. Can't put my finger on it but like it a lot better. More efficient, doesn't eat up as many system resources, and the graphics are closer to Qcharts. A lot cleaner and crisper lines.by NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Not sure what to tell you. Make sure bar type through TS is set to dot on close - nothing else. You cannot have bar type set to bars, candles, or anything else when using Solidus. Solidus handles adding the candles. Beyond that indicators that show on top of candles has to do with the way indicators are added. The first you add takes priority of the second and so on. Yes I am using 9.5 with Solidus. Did not do anything special to get it to work although I think I had to reload Solidus. Did not like the out of the box outlines provided by 9.5. More the candle size than anything else. I hate big fat candles.by NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I will not pretend to be an expert on option pricing models but I am gaining an education now that I am starting to sell options. I cannot answer the question about why the strikes went from $5 to $1 or if that is typical. I will say that option pricing is based on the probability of the being ITM between now and expiration. No, I really do not really rely on any scanner or indicator. I get much more out of it by manually "being in the charts". I created a few tools for those times when my schedule is so hectic and have very limited time. The goal was to point me in the right direction and save time. Unfortunately nothing is perfect. A HRFP scanner will give you signals when indicators barely cross toby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Yes, and it’s not that difficult. There is enough code in the TS community to put an HRFP scanner together. It may not be pieced together into one code but there is definitely crossover screens and alerts for each indicator. All you need to do is add all four together and insert a count. You can also look at Robert’s original code for TOS on how he handled the count (page 1 of Fun with Thby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I have only tried a handful over the years. The two I have the most experience with are TD Ameritrade and TradeStation. Both have reasonable offers if you do your homework. TDA quotes something like $9.95 + whatever per contract (you can see I rarely pay attention to commissions on my GW type trading). You can get that down to $1.50 per contract or less without the upfront flat fee of $9.95.by NCTrader - Trading Discussion
