GOOG I knew as soon as I heard that Eric Schmidt was planning to sell about 3.2 million shares (no date given) that GOOG would be my trade today. I bought 6 $775.00 Feb Put contracts @ 4.80 and sold about 23 minutes later for 5.90. I'm done for the day.by Darcy - Trading Discussion
Thanks sometimes I feel like I am hogging the board and I do not want to come off as arrogant but rather informative. Nothing I like less than an arrogant trader and I assure you all I am not one of those. I want to help but not do the work for you. My trades have been doing well but then if you read what Gary said "A monkey can throw darts (in Jan and Feb) at the market and make money&qby Darcy - Trading Discussion
According to RTT CMG had broken its trend. It did......... but this morning it was pulling up big time. CMG is one of those stocks that when it moves it thrusts. My mind said the pull back for this stock was yesterday (Feb 5, 2013) Today I bought 5 Feb 310 contracts (one strike price out of the money) for $ 5.60 @ 9:48 AM and sold @10:59 for $12.50 for a 123% profit. djp18.... I have been at this almost 9 years now. It took the better part of 5 years to "get it". The biggest thing to over come is "FEAR". Do not pile too much stats on your head and practice, practice, practice! Learn your stocks well.by Darcy - Trading Discussion
According to RTT NFLX trend was completed Jan 29. However looking at the charts I could see the trend up was not over. I could see on the daily chart that NFLX was building a launching pad. So I waited and jumped on NFLX yesterday with 3 $9.40 call contracts at around 11:47. I sold a little after 2:00 for $14.05. Profit….49%. I used the 55 chart for my decision and the 5 chart for entrby Darcy - Trading Discussion
I do not know why but the Trans Zone is one of my favorite zones. I have done the best in this zone. As I learned I switched from buying out in time to buying the month I am in. I seldom trade one month out of the month I am in now. I trade almost always the month I am in. Sometimes not always I hold over night. But with this market I really want to be more alert to over night signals. For inby Darcy - Trading Discussion
I based it entirely on the gap and information from Gary about Peak plays. I generally do Peaks well but on Slams I mess up almost 100% of the time. Slams are like Dead Cat Bounces except faster. Perhaps if I turned my screen upside down on Slams I could do well! With Peaks I look for not only a gap up but a gap up outside of the Bollinger Band. On FFIV look at the 55,34,21,8 charts on 1/24 aby Darcy - Trading Discussion
With all these recent gaps I knew to start looking for pull backs. So today RTT was showing FFIV in a trend up. I saw the gap it created and knew this was going to be one of Gary’s PEAK PLAYS. I waited and around 11:21 I started to see the signal. I got in a 110 Feb put for 5.7 with 5 contracts and watched for the end of the PEAK. I got out around 12:44 for 8.35 for a profit of $1.325.by Darcy - Trading Discussion

I am practicing the Printing Press. I have been working with AAPL for almost 1 year. Yes 200 shares are paid for using Printing Press and trading AAPL on the weeklies. That is my goal...to purchase 200 shares of Apple with my trading account profits. The weeklies work very well right now. I trade the market currently. I traded CAT this week (Thursday &Friday). I made good $$. I really doby Darcy - Trading Discussion
Try practicing Printing Press. If you already buy stocks this may be something you can try. You can do Printing Press even when the market is down. You will need to purchase at least 100 shares of stock. It works better with 200 shares. I have practiced Apple with the Printing Press and currently I have paid for 200 shares. I do the weeklies for Apple. Remember do this with stock you don't miby Darcy - Trading Discussion
Yep I have waited all week (since Jan 14) for a trade and the charts are simply telling me 'NOT NOW'!! Everything is on hold. To be honest I am wondering if AAPL doesn't have some of these traders a little shaken. I am not sure where this news is coming from but my S/O just spoke to SD assistance and was told it is not "going away". According to the information we just received they had talked about it last year but decided too many folks were using SD. That's the info we just got at 10:54AM Jan 14, 2013.by Darcy - Trading Discussion
There really is very little difference between Strategy Desk and Qcharts. I do not know about TOS. I do like TOS for buying my options. On Strategy Desk you can have all the charts Gary gave us to use including the 233, they are free and they are connected to TOS. My S/O uses a laptop and has 6 charts on one screen (Strategy Desk) and has TOS available when needed for buying options. My S/Oby Darcy - Trading Discussion
I am addicted to Qcharts. My S/O uses Strategy Desk. We bounce off each others charts. I like my Qcharts because I have 8 years of study on them. I like that I can scroll forever and add as many charts as I like as well as quote sheets. I also like my quote sheet gainers and losers. I also like the ease of the tools. I had thought about changing over to SD but I just couldn't make that move.by Darcy - Trading Discussion
I understand about the basket thing. I have not done that. What I began to do a few years ago was not go beyond a 10% loss and if I lost I had to refund my basket the loss before I could trade again. When you have to start cutting into business expenses as I did to refund my basket it makes the money REAL and you more careful! This market is perfect for a gunslinger. As I have said this is the hardest market I have seen in 8 years. Looks like it trades far more on the news than it ever did. I think it is fear moving the market up and down. But then this is usually a choppy time. And brother it sure is. Frankly I usually do not trade hardly at all during Nov 15th to Jan 2. This morning my significant other hollered out ‘TRADE CRM FOR QUICK $$$”. Now I don’t generally trade quick money and I do not trade right at the open but I did do it this time. I do not trade off small charts but I have noted that stocks seem to pop early and then go flat. I know Gary has taught us that amateurs trade first in the morning but lately I have been noticing stocks poppingby Darcy - Trading Discussion
AAPL is one that I practice the printing press with. I use the weekly to do this. When I was practicing trading in 2009 I used AAPL and K-mart as SHLD was taking K-mart over. I did very well. Then after K-mart was gone I was lost on what to trade. As I kept looking around I lost all my virtual money. Oh well. I did like the government and just printed me some more!by Darcy - Trading Discussion
Good Information. Also learn gaps especially in a choppy market. (Investopedia.com has a ton of great info on gaps) regardless of the chart you use learn how gaps react off your chart and with your stock. Look at BIDU on the daily 10/26 to 10/31...I am sad because although I saw it I did not trade it. I was too busy with other things!! I do not do Fib Retrace at all but I do use the regression line for ocean tide up or down. Going up I use it from lowest point on bollinger band to candle close on daily...or on 55 from lowest point on bolling band to highest point after the market close. I do the opposite for going down ie. from highest point on bollinger band to close on daily or highest point on bollinger band on 55 to lowestby Darcy - Trading Discussion
I was asked about Stephen Bigalow who has one of the leading web sites on educating folks about candlestick investing. First you need to know Stephen Biglow buys and sells stocks. Great trade. I've been away as well. My significant other has had major surgery and needs some care. We watched BIDU Nov 13th on lap top and did a virtual trade together. Got in on the 55 chart right at the open because candle was right on the bollinger band which is a good sign for more downward pressure. Just my opinion but I think it may very well be people selling short, which is a position of placing your money thinking the market will go down. Selling short in my opinion is confusing and risky. What some traders do then is you are agreeing to sell to the agent or broker the stock at the current price even though you do not own the stock. When the stock starts to fall you buy the stock and takby Darcy - Trading Discussion
TCB: Good sniper trade. This is what I like to do with news plays. When a stock gaps up $5 or more on news start looking for those ups or downs. If you go back and look at every chart on 9/27 for TPX they all were showing SNIPER TRADE HERE!!! You can look at the daily chart and see that even with the news it couldn't maintain the pop above the 20 or 50 moving average. That spells heavy resby Darcy - Trading Discussion
Donna, First thing I do when I have a gap is to see if it is at least $5.00 either way. If not I do not mess with it. If it is I then mark it with my ray line using a dash in bright red. I mark the top of the candle at the close of the day before, the bottom of the candle at the open of the next day and the center of the gap. I use these lines as support and resistance.
