Hey Pastor P and RichieRick! The issues that you all highlighted are REAL. Those issues can and will not only tank an account-but screw with you psychologically. I started using a 1-minute chart to help guide me in and out of trades. The biggest benefit to using this chart is it helps me pinpointing my exit. I enter trades knowing where the next S/R area is located. I actually set an alerby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Hello RTT family!!!! I hope everyone is safe and doing ok in this CRAZY market! I am doing just fine. Yep... still trading the same system I started trading about 8 years ago. I am strictly trading intraday. I do not hold anything overnight. I simply do not trust this market after it closes each day. My workspace consist of 6 charts. Charts are.... 30, 20, 10, 8, 5, and 1. I am really lost for words.... You and S/O helped me see "the little things" in the world of trading. My wife and I often talk about my journey and how instrumental you all were in our success. I am one of the lucky ones. I had the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge from both of you. Those experiences helped catapult my trading to a level that I never imagined. Thanks tilman29, It has been a year since I started this thread. I browse around out here once every 3 or 4 months. I will post a little, and go back to my dungeon. It is really crazy how much changes in a little over a year. Well, my son is doing really well with trading and guess what? His girlfriend is loving the hell out of him-lol! She is a sweet girl, but the raw reality is, sheby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I had a few phone conversations with Darcy and her S/O on a few occasions. She and I still periodically exchange e-mails. She is "old school" and accustomed to working her butt off to win in the game of trading. She was never going to stand and watch someone package her "E System" and put it in a box. Thank God for Darcy and S/O. She shared so much of herself with thby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
rcmcfe, If you have not gotten any help, I will answer some of your questions regarding the "E" Setup and basic process. I have successfully traded this process for a few years. My time is fairly limited, but I will provide you with the frame work. PM me when you get a chance and I will respond when I can.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Thanks guys! I am quiet, but never gone. I appreciate all the PM's as well. I just started training my son on how to trade from "ground up". Trust me, this is no easy task. We just assume that people know and understand the foundation of trading. Man, he knows nothing-lol! I am not using any materials from anyone else. I am training him my way and feel pretty good about that. Wheby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Keep pushing my friend. I trade the "E" as well. I also depend on support and resistance lines-but only for my action chart. After entry, I simply ride a 5 minute chart until the 5 crosses the 10. I exit on the cross. I try to keep it really simple. The hardest part of this is simplifying a process that works. Do not over analyze it. Once you know and clearly understand the basicby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
For the last year, I have nestled back in my corner and traded ALONE. The "Noise" was prohibiting me from finding MY style of trading, so I had a decision to make. I was going to either develop a system that worked for me, or I was going to continue fighting this monster that all traders battle during their periods of growth and development. I was listening and dreaming more than doinby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Guys, thanks so much for your candid feedback. I have been in Panama City Beach Florida on vacation with my family since November 23, so I glimpsed at the charts and did not like what I saw on the 24th. I read your responses also and could clearly see the days of choppiness well on it's way. Unfortunately, after trading off small charts for so long, I totally disregarded the signals off the Weby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Hey guys, I am still trading off small charts, but I trade APPL off Big and Small charts. Most of you know, AAPL is the stock I have traded for years. I bought AAPL Feb. contracts on yesterday. I think it is about time for the stock to make it's winter/holiday move. I snipe it weekly off small charts, but after it broke the 116.95 resistance area off my 233 and closed above the 50MA, I enterby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Yes I tend to totally agree with the fact that if you have the CC, almost 100%of the time candles closes are on the trading side of the 8 MA.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
MTUT, I only look for 10-20% gains on my trades, so waiting for the break on prev day hi/lo is a big indicator for me. If all lines are up, Dow is moving strong in my direction, mf is going in my direction, above/below 8 MA, trade has formed in my small critical window, and a couple of other small things, I want that break, but I will jump without it. Again, I only plan to gain 10-20%. I alsoby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
mtut, Good work. Thanks for providing valuable, practical, and tested information to the forum. Your process is very solid and is very similar to my small chart trading process. I traded without the "E", but found it to be very useful when Darcy introduced it. An extra bit of security when placing a trade is, when there is a break and close after the previous day's high or low pointby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
andyclev, You remind me so much of myself when I first completed the class. The only difference is, you are much sharper and catch onto concepts much faster than I did. Your process sounds excellent, and just remember, this is a marathon and not a sprint. Keep posting because your process is consistent with the new stuff Gary is teaching his students. Let me rephrase something. I stated, "I really hate trading like this". My point is, I really hate trading against those kind of odds (4 of 10 losers). I love trading big charts. I am being challenged like never before.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
tanman, Thank you very much. I will try that code a little later tonight. I am having my ups and downs with trading since switching to big charts. I will tell you something that has worked extremely well. This is going to sound crazy, but again it has worked for me. Get this, about 4 of 10 trades tend to reverse on me. I typically lose between 10-15% on the position. I clearly know wby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Good evening Robert and other really technically sharp folks, Is it possible to create an alert that will notify me audibly or by text message when the first bullish candle closes above the 8MA- after coming out of oversold conditions (Stochastic 20 or below)? I would love to have the same happen on the other side..... alert when the first bearish candles closes below the 8MA after coming outby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I go back and read previous posts on big charts (far and few between-comparison to small charts). The one thing that I read that probably helped me with my emotions as much as any is , do not toggle back and forth from my account. It has always been about the money, the money, the money. Now after continuing to read mindset books and gain more patience, I clearly see that I have shaken myself oby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I exited my FDX yesterday on the second 233 candle. This stock appeared to be running out of gas. All of my exit indicators signaled- get out. I felt the trade would be short. I got out with a decent profit. On to the next. I am watching AMZN for a possible Put. This is really not the season for puts, so I am a bit skittish, but we will see what it does.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I kinda jumped the trade on FDX. The 55 gave me the little nudge I needed. I normally do not care much about the 55, but I felt really good about the 3:00 candle. I felt strongly that I could get a little pop in the AM. I have watched my mentor get that pop in AM several times. If he does not get the pop, he still has the 233 and Daily pushing from behind, so his trade is still one that willby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Good morning, I appreciate your postings. Raleigh Trader, I have progressed to really big charts as well. I have fallen in love with this stress free way of trading (well, not totally stress free). I also trade off Weekly, Daily, and 233. Honestly, my trading is 90% science. I am very cautious around Earnings. I am so focused on meeting my goal of retiring by 50, until my time is limited.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Good evening folks, I just felt incline to flap my jaws a bit about some recent "Ah Ha" moments regarding Big/Small Charts. Most know I have spent the past 3 years trading SC's. The process of watching so many indicators everyday started to wear me down. As of about maybe 5 or 6 months ago, I have been studying and trading off BC's. This transition has been really, really tough bothby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I am a 1-5 student, and never studied or had access to any of the other teaching techniques that might be taught in the Survivor Classes. I have traded off small charts for a few years, and I have made a lot of money. I typically did not look at any chart larger than a 55. I learned how to "Pop" quick trades for 10-20% gains. Well, if you have a full time job that requires you to woby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
NCTrader, You were right on point with your summary. I am still reading books from the booklist. I see and pick up on so many processes that Gary uses. The huge point is, he found a way to package a program or concept by using a lot of that information, along with his personal experiences. If a person sticks with it, believes in it, and completely SUBMIT to his program, there is a very, vby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
GREED, GREED, GREED!!!! I am pretty embarrassed to break down a stupid mistake I made based on being GREEDY AND EGOTISTICAL. One thing that is for sure, God has a place for those who "Get to big for their britches". I am only sending this to hopefully help some of you who can be a bit impulsive-especially after a big win. I just exited AAPL for a few reasons. Red Flags: -AAPL opened above the previous day high, but lost a lot of steam and aggressively fell below- but the DOW AND NAS SLID UP (not good sign for AAPL). -Off the 55, my red crossed my green- going down (A lines on my chart). I counted 25 candles (days) the red has been above the green on the Daily. This has been a long run, so it has to correcby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I was speaking with a friend via Private Messaging. He suggested the possibility of identifying criteria, researching a larger number of stocks and finding trades that fit perfectly with my style. Dave, I do not trade weeklies anymore. Well, I have not traded them since I started studying Big Charts. I will start back practicing small charts when I am more confident in Big Charts. I want to have the knowledge to trade both. Since using BCs, I have to buy out enough time for the position to develop. Sometimes it could stall a bit-or go up, flatten out start back up.
