Excellent explanation! Now that you mention it I did have some type of forward looking calculation in my Excel model. It's been quite some time since I researched but will definitely flag the post for future reference. Appreciate your insights. NCTby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Agreed... don't get too caught up using autowave. Just a tool. Yes, I do require it but it is only one piece of the puzzle. While attempting to duplicate many moons ago, my research suggested the algorithm looks at potential turning points based on :1) Popular fib retracement levels and 2.) fib time series. I do not know Darcy or all the reasons that went into her decision to pullback; however, the last indication was that she did not care for the direction the forum was heading. She wished everyone well but truly believe, as GameOver indicated, this is not a black box thing. She used E but did so in context of what was taught by GW and the knowledge she gained over time. This forum needs a way to up vote other responses. to Fireman As for AMZN, the stock has moved roughly $16 from any possible correct entry point. That is a small move for this stock but that $16 could be the be the difference between break even to positive gain vs. a loss. I am sure a micro trader could have made a buck of two on this move. I concur with Fireman. I put EQIX on an initial watch list for this week but decided to pass due to the reasons already mentioned: Weekly could go a bit lower but appears to be at a consolidation area, wide MACD still indicating continuation down, overhead resistance on Daily/233 with MAs turning down. Fireman does a great job trading 233/Daily in context of Weekly while being patient and waiting for his setup. Both of the examples given are good examples of reading the entire picture - trading $RUT and staying away from AMZN. Always a good idea to look for opportunities where the larger decision charts provide a signal in the direction of: 1)Weekly that is turning over in same direction, 2.)Wby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
Yes, Alchem purchased the original QC source code. That was mentioned when the founder attended an RTP session a couple of years back back. Came to class to demo and answer questions. GW also mentioned, for full disclosure, that he had a small stake. So, not sure if that is where Alchem got the funds to purchase the source code but it was a reasonable assumption :-) As for GW not being pby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
I concur with the above. I have a few custom features configured with Alchem but you have to reach out and ask. That was in the original documentation. I believe Alchem was built to support GW students first but will allow some customization if you simply ask. Basically, yes. Online coaching materialized as GW had a backlog of students wanting to be live coaching clients. There are only a finite number of slots available. I believe the schedule is that you meet once per quarter. Once you are a live coaching clients you have a slot for life or until you decide to stop or GW kicks you out for not doing as instructed. RR, If the last time you attended was back in 2012 then you didn't miss out. The first time I recall online coaching being mentioned was sometime in 2014. Could be wrong but that is my recollection. GW inquired whether or not folks would be interested and needed time to research how to facilitate. The first annual session was 2015-2016. Best of luck to those that have decided to take the plunge. In my opinion well worth the experience, at least once providing the cost is not going to take food off of your table. This will probably be one of my last contributions for a while as my time is more productivity doing other things but throw this out for anyone that is working hard to do as instructed. I concur with RR... GW continues to remind students that he never stops learning and growing. If he finds something that he feels is of value then he may incorporate it into his trading. Word of caution. My take on GW "incorporating something new" and what I see in this forum are two entirely different things. I will use GW's charting platform as an example. A couple more cents worth based on relatively recent GW remarks.. Time would be better spent working on learning to trade well than focusing on trying to get indicators absolutely perfect. You should reach a point that, if forced, you could use another charting system with indicators that are close enough that you can still trade well. The original rules for "spot on / bread and butter / this is perfect" for E trade were that you had to have FP/HRFP on 55, 34 & 21 with E on 55, 34, & 21, and E on 10, 5, & 3. Again, that was jump off the screen obvious and in context of bigger charts. I believe they also watched the Money Flow indicator (had to be rising). John, My apologies for jumping into the conversation but wanted to offer some guidance and a caveat to "E". If you want to understand the system then a quick search on 3 MA crossover will get you started. Some traders prefer SMA while others use EMA. The concept of "E" means the crossover recently occurred and the MAs are widening (looks like an "E". That personby NCTrader - Trading Discussion
There are several more qualified folks to give advice on TOS. One workaround I have seen for other platforms is creating a 1440 minute chart and set it to after hours. You are simulating a 24 hour daily chart. Unfortunately after hours ends and pre-market beings at defined times. Hopefully someone will be able to help you. The first question they might ask is what trading platform you are using? I am aware of at least 4 that are used in this forum but probably more. A lot of platforms have some type of toggle for general market hours, all sessions, and/or after hours. Once set you will be able to see all trading information for that symbol. I attended the first 4 charting classes and provided more detailed thoughts in another post sometime last Fall. I thought it was worth it but "worth" is relative. It will depend on your expectations.
