This is getting painful for me to read. Have you ever thought about using RTT to swing trade some positions using larger charts? If these are real money trades, you are making the brokerage rich through commissions and also killing your own confidence by going through all of this chop. I am not being critical, but it what you are doing is not working. The sign of insanity, is doing the same thingby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Bought the AMZN Jan 335 call right before the close yesterday and sold at the open this morning for a $215 gain. Criteria for buying... didn't have any perfect setup. The stock is still going up from a gap a few weeks ago and there was strong buying yesterday. On a weekly chart it may be at the 50ma but none of the indicators are turning over yet. I would have held if I would have purchased out fby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Man... Apple just keeps going and going. Rookie is going to be able to pay the house off with that tradeby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
This should help... Go to the top of your chart and click on the small wrench beside the 'D' for Daily, this will open the 'chart settings option', when that opens click on the 'time axis' tab, beside the 'scale:' tab make sure the 'keep time zoom" box is checked. This will allow you to keep your chart and expansion you want and will allow you to check other stocks in your watch list withby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Everyone keeps telling me the market is going to crash.Does this mean it is time to buy again lol?by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
It seems as if it's better to just trade the stock instead of the options. Just need more money lol. Nice trade!by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
There is more than one way to bake a cake...Gary said, "successful people find what works and they keep doing that over and over." I feel that 1-5 is a great start, but you have to find what works for you. Let's just get successful at this and say, "f@$! A job LOL!!!!by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
She sells options and collects 'theta'... She doesn't buy options. Kinda like GW's advanced class but she sells everything naked using indexes, not individual stocksby djpl8 - Trading Discussion

But... after playing with the code, Robert's works just as good.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Do you mean this? You can download his workspace off of the blog. Then you can edit the script and copy the code. Thanks for the heads up on his site, I would rather trade futures than options. plot Data = close; input price = close; plot ema21 = expAverage(price, 21); ema21.SetDefaultColor(Color.magenta); ema21.SetStyle(Curve.firm); plot eMA8 = expAverage(price, 8); eMA8.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion

Bojiggle, I agree with you 100%. With the technology changing so fast, paying that kind of money for charting is not worth it unless you are really that particular. If you trade futures, you can buy a lifetime license to Ninja Trader for $1000.00 and the broker will give you the CME data fees for $5.00 a month and you can use the platform forever. I wouldn't even do that, but it would still beby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but enough is enough. Every time I turn around, It's some type of money grab and then you still can't find anyone making any money. Just rumors and fan club people that seem to be shills that are trying to get everyone else to feed the money machine. !-5 laid the ground work for a lot of work that will pay off, but to keep going back for more and more moneyby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
On your charts you will see style, drawings, and studies across the top. You have to click on the little wrench icon to the left of them and then choose equities and uncheck the box next to the (show volume subgraph.) You can also do this for futures and options also. To scroll back in time you just use the arrows on the bottom left and right sides of the screen or you can left click and moveby djpl8 - Trading Discussion

Shane2bt I don't trade that many real money trades. Last one was Google a couple of weeks ago for a .76 profit on the call option. I have been practice trading a lot, but am not consistent enough for my liking. Over time, I have never had a losing year trading stocks. I came to this realization a few months ago because I refuse to give up at this. I stripped my charts down to only a few indicaby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I see that you are trading OTC/Penny stocks. You must be following Jason Bond, Timothy Sykes, or one of those guys. Figured you would be using level II and/or Finviz to scan for trades. Are you consistently profitable trading OTC stocks? Just curious...by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Just a quick note... I used to be a PC person and had nothing but problems with Windows 8 and computer hardware. I switched over to a MAC this past December and things are so much better. I upgraded TOS and Java and it's working great. I can say, I love my MAC (thank you for the advice, Robert.)by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
The ultimate question... Mac vs PC, what is better for trading? I'm at a crossroads when it comes to computers. My motherboard has died in my PC and I would like to know and hear some opinions on what people use as a trading computer. I have PM'd one person on this forum and they said they love their Mac and have not had any problems. On the other hand... I use TOS, and I know thatby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Rookie, You need to learn how to set protective stops and sell orders using the active trader on TOS. You can set a bracket order using the active trader. When your stop or limit sell is hit, it will cancel the other order and you can set and forget these trades. They are server based, so it doesn't matter if your computer is on or not. I learned this method when I used to trade the S&Pby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Big money With that setup, you must be killing the market. Let me guess... about six figures this year?by djpl8 - Trading Discussion

Just an added note... My friend that uses the W.I.N package on tradestation said, that he had an alert to do this trade on BIIB at 10:00 this morning. He bought six of the Oct13 245 puts for $6.60 and sold them for $11.70. That's a profit of $3,029.59 after all incurred costs. Not a bad day! You are going to get your behind handed to you by the stock market if you use $1200 out of $2500. I know, because I have had mine handed to me. Use less contracts.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
The NFLX 320 puts are up $7.00.!.! Congratulations!!!!by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Gotta love that AAPL gap and fade... Hope someone bought puts on the QQQ's or AAPL this morning. I did, but it was only practice.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Just curious... do you make much off of the YM and 6E? I have never Seen anyone consistently make anything long term. I'm not being negative or disrespectful, just curious...by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
