Darcy, BCT, Beachbum- thanks for the information. I hope I can find some relief as I move forward with this taxing issue.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
As I have stated in the past, I think it is good for everyone to hear about the losing trades as well as the winning trades. I do not mind airing my dirty laundry. I lost a little more than $200 today on CF. I very, very rarely miss CF. This trade works 9 times out of 10. I I entered off my 13 on the 9:56 candle. Shortly after my entry, the stock turned on me and flattened out. My thouby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Darcy and BCT, Thanks for the information. I will check both of them out today.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I traded CF this morning. I rode it down on a put from about 186 to about a little over 181. I jumped in shortly after amateur hour (9:45) and out by 11:10. This is my operative window of time to trade. I generally do not enter that early, but I know CF pretty well. I have traded it for well over 1 year through each trading zone. Just want to give a little insight to my trade...... I loveby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Just to let you know. I have followed Darcy's posts for nearly a year or more. I print them off and spend time dissecting her processes. I have my own style of trading, but I like finding ways to make my trading more accurate and less stressful. My trading has improved 40-50% since listening, backtesting, and implementing some of the approaches that she finds in books, her uses of MA's and othby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Just as I thought I was getting a little closer to retirment, I get butchered by my tax preparer (good friend of family). Ok- I know "Uncle Sam" will get his money. I want to pay him, but not this much! I have to find a way to offset some of these taxes as we move into the future. Guess where I had to withdraw the tax money? Yes, MY BROKERAGE ACCOUNT! I have always wanted too learn how to trade off bigger charts. I really like the idea of learning how to make money in a way that is a little less stressful-however, I like a little stress also. That 8 MA is by far one the best tools available- my opinion! It works best off the 55. It is pretty simple. In a Call, If candles are above the 8 MA, you are in a good position. On a call, ifby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Darcy, I think it is important for everyone to know that we do not have to trade EXACTLY like Gary trades or suggests. He made that clear. If you find a way to make money and incorporate some of your own techniques, it is what he suggested. I do not deviate much from his training. For the most part, he covered it all-although I might think I am doing something unique. Today, I closed upby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I have 6 in my basket, but I trade only 5 all year. I trade FOSL (6th stock) during specific windows of time. FOSL is a stock that will run up or down for several days. I have traded it for almost 2 years now, so I have a good idea when it will run up or down. When it goes below the 8 MA, it stays below the 8 MA for a while-again during specific windows of time. Not pushing you, but if you trby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Bubba, I tried trading the QQQ's but I could not get a feel for it. My opinion is, a person has to be really good and extremely confident in their abilities to trade. I respect those who trade the QQQ's. For me, it is easier to have a Winner that I trade 60-70% of the time. I know how that stock moves. I can clearly see it setting up each week. I land at least one trade a week, unlessby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Excellent trade... I would have not slept a wink- fearful of the open. Until I can get over those fears, I can only trade intraday. My mentor says I am not REALLY trading the way we were taught, and will never make a lot of money because I trade intraday. I trade the style that works for me. My brokerage account says intraday trading is working just fine. I am still a little "shakey&by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Thanks a lot. Those comments mean a lot to me. I love sharing. I love when people have those "Aha" moments. As I have always stated, I am not great at this, but I am good enough to be dangerous-LOL! God is blessing me to do this fairly well, so I would love to continue sharing. I feel in my heart that there are some of us who need the extra income. I will pull back a little on my postings. I do not want to dominate the forum, so this will be my last for awhile. I just like to share if I think it can help someone. Those who PM me know I will do everything I can to help. I want to know that a person is working to get better, but I will share-only if I have had success with the approach. Those of us who has listened to 1-5 more times than you are willing to admit will love this short story. My mentor is the same person who bought to entire WSB program for me (expensive). He was one of the orignial students who spent time in Gary's home, recieving "hands on training". My mentor has fully funded his W&O, earns a minimum of 5% monthly, has been piling money in &by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Qcharts offer an excellen product, but their prices are much to expensive. Strategy Desk and Think or Swim together gives me everything I need to trade. I use OptionsExpress as my practice account only. Scottrade is the brokerage service I use. I really like free stuff-especially when I get what I need-FOR FREE!.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Thanks Darcy! I had that GW moment. I was nearly yelling, "IT'S A TRADE, IT'S A TRADE!" I knew if RTT had it trending up, I was going to dive in with a chunk of money. It was confirmed that the trend was up, so I jumped in with a little over $3000-opposed to my comfort level of no more than $2000. Thanks RTT because I made an additonal $100 in that short period-based on that glimpseby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
OK- Just bailed out. In and out in less than an hour I picked up $550 profit. This is why I put in the time and work to learn all I can about this business. When I have reached a point to buy 20 contracts, that $550 becomes $5500 in less than an hour. What a job!! Thanks for allowing me to "Toot My Horn". I am pretty pumped and excited. I jumped all over NFLX shortly after the open (9:50ish). I typically look for strength after an opening that is above previous days high. I look for overbought conditions, HR FP's on various charts, direction of the broad, and recently added money flow and 3 MA's that Darcy talked about-also my 8 MA. When all are in concert, you have a trade. If most are in concert, there is a trade. It mighby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Good post Darcy! I have been "up against it" lately. My first cousin who I grew up with, and is only 4 months older than me, just had a stroke that has left him paralyzed on his left side. If it happened to him at 43, it can happen to anyone. The cause is unhealthy diet, not taking blood pressure medication, lack of excercise, and high levels of stress. As we grow older, we mustby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Kars, I appreciate the suggestion. W & O is like a foreign language to me right now. I do not know where to start. I have spent ALL my time studying how to trade from the trading leg (Calls and Puts). You are right, I could be making money from two accounts. I plan to start studying W & O pretty soon. I am just not mentally ready to take on another approach to trading. I hopeby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Just want to share.... As mentioned in previous posts, I lost my basket, practiced, practiced, had success, lost a chunk from my basket, PRacticed, PRACTiced, and PRACTICED! I appreciate the support. It means a lot coming from other who understand WSB on it's most advanced level. I totally agree with the point of when you have traded or practiced enough the entry become an inate decision. I think what is clearly conveyed is, we all do things a little differently. My approach is extremely elementary. When I was going through my continuous losses, someonby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I do not take any comments as criticism. I am still learning as many of us. I chose not to wait on the 55 to close before entering because my confirmation came off my 13. The biggest component to this process was waiting on that break from previous day's low. It broke on the 13 before the 55 closed, so I felt strongly it would continue to go down. Again, I thought it was a bad trade becausby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Kars, I am always willing to share and help if I can. God knows I have needed it-and still do. Yes, I was a little slower than I wanted before placing the trade. I wanted to wait until I got a break on the previous day's low. I knew once it broke, it would run down from there. Wow, when it started to appear to go against me, I nearly freaked out. I knew my approach had not failedby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I used the 55 and 13 only. The 55 was my decision and 13 was my action. I know this is not one of Gary's recommendations, but it works better than any other combination for me. I sold at around 11:51.by rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Thanks! This process is like becoming a professional student. It is important to always read, study, practice, and backtest. When you win over and over in practices, and if you stay true to the rules, you will have similar results as you have many times during practice. My personal rule is, if I sell a position, I am leaving the trading world for the remainder of the day. If the trade waby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
I have practiced and practiced, but this morning I felt confident that NFLX was going in my direction and a Real Money Trade was in the works. Everything looked perfect! I have done this trade over and over again in practice, so now I just needed to push the button. Practicing has my confidence levels sky high, so I bought 2 Mar 13 190 Put contracts at about 10:10. RTT saves me a TON of time. I is easy to take for granted what this site does for us. Remember Gary talking about scrolling back on charts to find trends over past 3,4, 5 years? Before I found RTT, I was doing that spending hours and hours, trying to find trends. I was being worn out. This was probably the most tedious and time consuming aspect of research. Also, RTT gives me a forum tby rookie30 - Trading Discussion
Bdollar20, It has simply been a transition for me. I started by trading everything-trying to get my 40 trades in a week. This was really good for me regarding the basic learning aspect of trading, but it forced me to look at so many different stocks.
