Yeah, I was re-listening to Class 3 and saw GRW recommended them. Anyone willing to offer their opinion of the Investment House products; The Daily, Stock Split Report, etc? I know GRW recommends several newsletters and cautions that if you're still relying on them for trades you shouldn't be doing real-money trading, but seems like The Daily might be informational and educational, and althby Spang67 - Trading Discussion

So I got flat yesterday. Got some work/life stuff going on and needed to take something off my plate. The stock rose yesterday to near $27.00 so I bought the call to close and sold the stock: 10Feb15 BTC 75 FEB15 26.00 C at 1.27 = (9593) net 2206 on calls 10Feb15 STC SWN 7500sh at 26.85 = 201529 net 18446 on stock, net 20922 on trade, 11.4% Not "One Good Trade" for sure, buby Spang67 - Trading Discussion

Dave- Not to hijack the thread but I only use the delta to (roughly) calculate the effect of stock price change on the option price in so much as I try to set the Take Profit and Stop Loss (though less so) on support and resistance levels on my Decision chart, which I try to use for my exit signal, and to pick the strike price relative to the both the delat and the lot size. I think I can share it with you via this link: There is one sheet for Calls and one for Puts. I think you can resave it as your own in Google Docs or mabye copy into Excel, which is where I first built it. If that doesn't work let me know and I will try something else! The two biggest contributions to my recent trading have been a couple of the take-away messages from Market Maker's Edge, The Disciplined Trader and What I Learned Losing A Million Dollars: (1) You have to have a Plan to change "trading" from a never-ending process in the market to a defined one, more analogous to gambling, with a structure that provides a beginning and an end. Thanks for adding that one. I have it too, just haven't read it yet. Practice more.by Spang67 - Trading Discussion
Here's a couple recent upside historic trends/Seasonality I'm looking at: SWN BTU (practice trade cause crummy fundamentals IMHO) I recently traded boldly on JDSU based on the current evidence (charts) and the history. Class 2 stuff! I've begun noting these in my Stock Traders Almanac for use in coming year.by Spang67 - Trading Discussion
Not special or new. I'm just beginning to realize after reading The Slight Edge twice, Think and Grow Rich once, and now 1/2 of The Disciplined Trader that trading really is all in your head. It's all about objectivity and discipline, and your perception forming your reality. Now, 6 years after I first took 1-5, I feel like I'm starting to understand it. I hoped that posting the list woby Spang67 - Trading Discussion

I've compiled a still-short list of successful trades gleaned from the posts of the kind forum members to allow for repeated practice using OnDemand on TOS. Happy to re-share them here in a consolidated format, hoping others will share theirs with the members here too. 11/15/2013 P 6/5/2014 AMZN 8/26/2014 AMZN 8/13/2014 P 10/22/2013 AMZNby Spang67 - Trading Discussion
Got The Slight Edge and read the first 50 pages today. Funny that I could have written the book and firmly believe in the concepts Olson presents but somehow they seem more inspiring when I read them as he has written. Needs to be "used" ie. read, in a daily devotional-manner to be most effective in my opinion. I ordered the original paperback version for this purpose but am readby Spang67 - Trading Discussion
Darcy: Like the others here I very much appreciate your willingness to share. I have learned a great deal from you, Robert and Rookie30. May I ask you a quick question about practice? I have been practicing two different ways; (1) with the first I simply run a random day OnDemand on TOS and scan 4 grids I have setup with 12 5-min Echarts each to try to get my eyeball to spot moves asby Spang67 - Trading Discussion
I've subscribe to Channelingstocks.com, both the weekly US Stocks and the Puts. Probably have gotten 3 or 4 actual useful trades per year off there, not great but paid for the annual fee and then some for sure. Like Gary says, never trade off someone else's research, but I've used these as a starting point anyway to do my own. joeby Spang67 - Trading Discussion
I took WSB 1-5 via the streaming videos in 2008 and have been doing W&O sporadically with modest success since then. By modest I mean small gains in the 3-10% range, and virtually no losses. My lower range gains are most commonly from failing to sit on the piano sufficiently and I am working on developing the discipline for that. I have found it hard to resist selling the first OTM calls wby Spang67 - Trading Discussion
