UGH - I'm an idiot. I had almost this exactly, but I was inserting the average before defining WHAT I was averaging, so it was averaging everything both times.by devildriver6 - Trading Discussion
Now I have a question I can't quite figure out. I'm trying to get the average of the volume bars, but I ONLY want the after hours bars to be calculated in the After Hours volume average, and ONLY the RTH bars to be calculated within the RTH volume average, both within the same indicator. This way, it takes the averages of both sections and isn't too high in AHs and too low in RTHs. Maybeby devildriver6 - Trading Discussion

Another way to do this is as follows: def price = close; def fastLength = 50; def slowLength = 144; def displace = 0; def averageType = AverageType.EXPONENTIAL; def fastAvg = MovingAverage(averageType, price[-displace], fastLength); def slowAvg = MovingAverage(averageType, price[-displace], slowLength); def hiLevel = if fastAvg >= slowAvg then Double.POSITIVE_INFINITY else Doubleby devildriver6 - Trading Discussion

I'm not sure if this can be done, and I don't have the knowledge to do it, but here goes nothing.... Sierra Charts has something called a "Flex Renko" bar that has a range that the bar has to reverse in order to create a new bar. From there, each tick, or 2 ticks, etc, it creates a new bar, until price reverses back on itself again. It ends up looking like it does below. I'm wby devildriver6 - Trading Discussion

Exactly. Because the first and second conditions are absolute, the 3rd and 4th can't exist. Need a shut down for the 1st and 2nd. But, for now, the bars are colored. When using the assignpricecolor, it needs to be one long string of if x then y else if z then a else if a then B....and end it with else color.current. That way you can see the bars which aren't included in the conditions.by devildriver6 - Trading Discussion
I got the cyan and magenta colored bars to show up, but it looks like the black and white conditions aren't happening. def body = AbsValue(open - close); def wrb = if body > body[1] and body > body[2] and body > body[3] then 1 else 0; def wrbupper = if wrb > 0 and close > open then 1 else 0; def wrbdown = if wrb > 0 and close < open then 1 else 0; def wrbhgupby devildriver6 - Trading Discussion
Apparently it works - as they've disappeared and we'll never see them again, cause they're on a beach somewhere. I'm sad now...by devildriver6 - Trading Discussion

I wonder if someone can help me with an indicator I'd like to customize. What I'm looking for is a fusion between Robert's Swing High / Low indicator and a Zig Zag indicator. What I want to do is identify a trending leg, and then only want the major swing highs and lows on that leg, depending on the TF. It would only show the major swing highs and lows from the last leg, which works I thinkby devildriver6 - Trading Discussion

I've been looking into trading RENKO based systems (both my own, and others) , and I'd like to get other's opinion on Renko Bars. What's your thoughts - good, bad, ugly.... your trading plans, if you're using Renko bars, so on and so forth.by devildriver6 - Trading Discussion
