BigMoney, Go here, and read Robert's instructions. The steps are in the 7th post in the thread. That's how I did it:-) I made my image to small so you will have to check to see which is better. I'll go back tomorrow, and make mine a bit bigger so everyone can see the details better:-) Concerning workspace settings. Right now I'm not able to make up my mind about how much to zoom inby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Here is how my screen is currently setup. I erased the indicator settings of course:-), but atleast you can see how it looks. I think it looks very similar to how I had Qcharts setup up. Except on Qcharts I had a much lighter background. Like a blue-green color or whatever the default was.by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
I'm using TOS mostly because it is free, and that's about all I can afford for now. I've seen a couple of posts concerning Trade Station vs other platforms like Q-charts, and Think Or Swim (TOS). A few have stated that TOS doesn't have all of GWs indictors. From what I see the ONLY indicator not available on TOS is Autowave. All the others are there. So what's the problem with using TOS? Ohby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
You had me at "few rips and tears". I was rolling on the floor when I read that! Tis motivation and confidence building for the rest of us. It gives me confidence when I hear someone on the journey ahead of me, can say that Gary is right. That tells me that if they can do this, then I can too. Gary once said, "if you can guarantee the work, I can guarantee the results"by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
TCB, You may be correct. The more I fiddle with it; it appears to expand or contract that area. Much like the setting in TOS that controls "fit studies". When you turn that on and off seems to expand or contract the price chart to squeeze all the studies in. Not real sure I like that though, since it tends to "squish" the price chart area. Still I'm not real certain whicby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
I've got a question concerning the ADX on the DMI window. In TOS you have the option of telling the ADX line to "NOT" show. When you turn it off as I have done, it changes you DMI a bit. It seems to change the scale a bit, and make it bigger. Does anyone have any thoughts on that? If I remember correctly, in Q-Charts you can't "hide" the ADX. That is why GW says to mby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
At least it looks the same for you guys as it does to me.... For a second there I though my monitor was screwing up. Or worse, I was losing my mind:-) Ding, Coffees ready, finally!!!by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
When you open it, it is just more Chinese text. The two topics are discussing bathroom, and shower remodeling products. Not sure how they ended up here.by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Hi, I don't remember if this existed in Q-Charts or not. InTOS I see a setting that I can check that says "Log Scale". Does anyone recommend using that? Does anyone remember if GW said to use it or not? I've been thru the CDs and all my notes. I can't ever remember him discussing it or even if he had an opinion on it.by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Taking a glimpe at the current price right now makes me go WOW!!! If I hadn't setup the GTC sell order for my expected profit, I'd be dealing with a major loss of funds right about now. Boy GW sure is smart, but he got that way by being dumb sometimes. You really can learn alot from a dummy:-) Just kidding. No disrespect intended, as I owe GW many thanks:-) It appears the est is for .97by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Donuts!!! I love those things:-) Well it is good to know the Closing Bell is still called the Closing Bell. Thanks Darcy... anyone else care to chime in?by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
That's funny! I was just reading that yesterday as I was going back through my WSB manuals. I always thought of it as an all at once sort of deal, but I suppose it could be a gradual "selling of the losers" thought the last 3 weeks or so of the month.by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
I think I forgot to pay my NetFlix bill this month. Maybe that's it:-) Those nasty short sellers, they have been whipsawing me lately, hehehe. I like to continue to watch after I leave a trade also. When I can. It's kinda automatic really since I tend to stay inside my watchlist basket of stocks.by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
So, I’ve been keeping an eye FFIV for a bit. Keep in mind I’m using TOS, so I can’t say if it will look the same on Qcharts. I can’t afford Qcharts anymore. Also I’m having issues getting the 233 minutes charts displaying correctly on TOS, so I used the 4 hour setting instead. It’s only a difference of 7 minutes so it shouldn’t matter too much. Yesterday on the 233 (4 hour) chaby RichieRick - Trading Discussion

Hi everyone, With my job I've been traveling an awful lot over the last couple years. About 3 or 4 weeks ago the traveling finally finished up. Before that I was able to see the markets during the day. Now I'm not able to, so it's big charts for me. As I prepare to entrench myself in re-mastering my trading, I wonder if the Closing Bell on CNBC is still valid. I remember GW harping on watby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Thanks Darcy for juming in and firing up this discussion. You guys are confident in what you are saying, because you know what you are talking about... I like that :-) I have no idea how I missed your post. I was responding to TCB, and completely missed yours. For some reason it showed up right under your post. Strange! Sorry I missed it. I'm still trying to wrap my head around an 800,by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
I've seen that happen. I'm sure everyone here can attest to that. Maybe it's just me trying to get in sync with the daily charts. Once I convince myself that the markets are about to change direction... it doesn't. I just wonder if I'm starting to head fake myself. Maybe it's that old "analysis paralysis" thingy :-) Ding.... coffee!!!by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Thanks for responding Rookie. After 30 some views and no response I was thinking it was the dumbest question... ever. I was about to delete it and go away in shame. Last year, as I was going through the fall/winter trading zone I thought I had it figured out. I really thought I was on my way. Then the transitional zone hit, and rattled all my traps. Things seemed to get worse from thatby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
I hope that made since :-) Just when you "convince" yourself that market or a stock is going to move in one direction it turns and moves in another or just flat. Maybe I just need to trust what the indicators are telling me "right now" instead of what I want to read into where it may or may not be going. Is it possible to "whipsaw" yourself? Thanks for the input on the Mini's Question though... Ok, so the mini's cover 10 shares in a block instead of 100 shares. That part I'm clear on... I think:-) The question is, if I bought 10 contracts of the mini's would it be the same price as 1 contract of the "regular" option? I'm not saying I would do it, but was wondering if it's broken down that way.by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Gunslinger has a fast draw! You can get a lot of ammo with those profits:-) Nicely done. I'd love to be able to trade during the day, but many days I'm not able to. Stupid 9 to 5 !! When I started WSB I was able to trade during the day, but that was back when I was on the evening shifts. I always liked the idea of things happening quickly, sort of like a boxing match. LOL, Ya know its kinda funny. I've had friends in the past "back away" from our relationship because several of those books changed the way I looked at the world, and myself. It was like I was viewing the world from the wrong side of the glass. These "mindset" books can be powerful. I'll be the first to admit that at some point had a strong dis-taste for what I callby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Morning everyone, I'd like to know more about those "mini-options" also. I'd love to trade on those big boy stocks but the contracts are just to far out of my range right now. Usually I have to focus on stocks under a 100 bucks simply because the options are in my range. Sure I could do just one contact. For me though I'd prefer the volume even if it only moved a little, insteaby RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Please don't be insulted by anything I have to say about the subject, but maybe just maybe wait till 10:15 to 10:30 to ensure amatuer hour has finished up. All in all it seems you kept the loss very small. It's drop in the bucket compared to being up over 4k this week. Either way, don't be to hard on yourself, you kept to your rules for winning, and for losing. Way to go!by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
While I did not "make" any money. I was smart enough to not lose any money:-)by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
Ouch! A bit off to me, but it opened higher, and traded higher this morning, but it seems to have backed off now almost to the open. I would have expected a lower open this morning, not a higher one. Guess the MM is still playing his games.by RichieRick - Trading Discussion
