NCTrader, your insight is very much appreciatedby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
I,m hoping to start doing some W/O trades so I've been reviewing all my WSB materials on the subject. In the manual, Gary recommends selling OTM calls; however,on the CD's(Denny's session dealing with W/O)), he gives an example where he sells ITM calls($30 stock,$20 call). Can anyone tell me which is the preferred method?by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Recently Darcy indicated on a post that she might need more time and information to respond to personal messages asking her to review trades. I would like to encourage everyone to post these requests on the community wide forum so that all can benefit from the insight that Darcy (and others)so generously provide. I'm certain there are many besides myself that would appreciate examining your tradeby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Darcy, Sorry about the transposition of the times and prices in my post. Just a couple more questions : is the 10 min chart the one you use almost exclusively to monitor your trades or do you use the faster charts sometimes? Also do you ever transfer the trade to a larger chart(21,34) to monitor? Thanks so much for your tutelage;by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Darcy, Great trade on LINK; I appreciate when you take time to share these with us. Could you be so kind to help me understand how S/O determined that the pullbacks in this move were just headfakes and not reversals. S/O entered at 10:00 with the stock at $234.17. At 10:14 the stock had reversed up to $232.78 and the option was about a dollar down. With the stochrsi turned up(all charts), MF UPby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Darcy, As most others on this site, I am so very appreciative on all the time and effort you put into sharing and teaching. A few years ago,an investment house (E.F.Hutton,I think) had an ad campaign centered on the premise that when E.F.Hutton spoke, everybody listened. You, Darcy, are the E.F.Hutton of this forum. I have a large folder with just about everything you've posted, and my trading sby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Tanman graciously revealed his trading methods recently in one of his posts. In it, he discussed his preference for using EMA's over SMA's when doing short chart intraday trading. Upon further exploration, the EMA's seem be the prefered option, at least for the smaller MA's. Right now I have all my charts set up with SMA's as per GW. Does anyone have any definitive thoughts or suggestions concby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Tanman, Thanks for the suggestions.Could you clarify some uncertainties I have with your post? 1. What do you mean by 5 min open range? Also in a previous post you referenced a 30 min open range. What determines the time period you employ when calculating a trade? 2. What is 2min ATR ? How is it calculated? When you reference a "bar", is that as in bar chart, similar to a candle?by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Darcy, As usual, you are the best.Thank you so much for sharing your valuable time and expertise.Your posts are like gold to everyone on this forum who seek to master the art of trading. Studying, digesting, and recording all you have posted here will keep me busy for awhile. Regarding my trade, I actually used the 1 min chart to enter and exit Lately I,ve been being burned by waiting too lonby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Moinnorf, thanks for the advice. i will definitely give the equivolume candles a tryby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Rookie, Considering your AMZN trade on 6/5, it had already moved quite a bit before you got in. Is there a certain percentage that a stock has already moved that may discourage you from making a trade even though the charts are still looking good? And by the way, I really appreciate all your posts and your generosity in sharing your methods and thought processes. Thanks for all your helpby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Traded BIDU on 9/6 with mixed results bought 50 contracts @.22 (weekly)- 9:48. Stock turned against me and I turned tail at 9:56 for a $300 dollar loss. I got back in at 10:04 @ .09 when the stock reaffirmed itself. I sold 1/2 my position at 10:42 for .35 and the other 1/2 at 10:49 for .20. I ended up with a $600 profit and an unsatisfied feeling that I should have done better on this trade. Wby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Raleigh trader, could you be so kind to list the dates you made your trades. I've been making good progress on the short chart trades, but am having trouble spotting the bigger charts moves. Thanks for posting.by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Rookie, Please feel free to continue to be long winded. Every time you get going, I manage to pick up crumbs along the way.by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Darcy, nice trade. Just wondering, did the support on the 55(50MA),34(200MA,BB, and 10(200MA) give you any pause? Thanks for posting this.by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Darcy and Rookie, thank you so much for your insights and suggestions. I have learned so much from your many posts. I am continually amazed at your patience and graciousness to share your expertise. There is so much in the market that I don't see yet, but, I'm getting there. One of these days when I can repeat Rookie's words as in " I got it", if I can't pay you guys back directly, I'llby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
By the way, Twtr did end up getting back down below the 9;55 dip. Considering the favorable set up of the 55,34' and 21 charts, would you have weathered the temporary rise of the stock from 9:55 to 11:00 before it started back down again?by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
I have done a few practice trades recently that started out well, but lost money when I stayed too long. Example: TWTR, 4/14/14 BTO @9:39, 44 put @ $1.75 At 9:55( option $2.37) the 3 and 5 min charts histogram and RSI(oversold) were showing signs on turning to the upside. The 10 min chart still appeared to have room and momentum to the downside with the ADX showing continued strength. The stocby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
I appreciate your feedback and for the help you guys( Darcy, Robert, Rookie, Mtut, BCT, and others) have provided me with your postings over the years. I have read every post and studied all the trades contain in them. My GW education was a good foundation, but I really struggled and ,full disclosure, quit for about 4 years, when my business started to overwhelm me.Three months ago I decided to maby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Bought tsla today(4/14) @ 14:19 Apr 14 put for 8.90 - 10 contracts ; sold @ 15:16 for 11.35 I am somewhat of a newbie so would very much appreciate any feedback on this trade. The market was up today but backing up in the afternoon. Also my big chart study the night before had me watching many stocks including Tesla for more downward movement. Looking at your AMZN trade. the E is just starting to cross at 9:30, but the ADX was around 12.4. Are my indicators off or is the over 25 ADX optional?by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Darcy, I second the gratitude of TCB for your willingness to take the time to instruct and inform from your many years of experience. Your insight is extremely valued and appreciated.by tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
I, for one, am not at all tired of the number of successful trades that others have posted in the past. I am somewhat new to this forum but this has been a godsend for me in my quest to become a trader. And much of the value of the forum is the successful trades of others that can be broken down and studied. It gives one an insight into the mind of those who are succeeding at this endeavor. The vaby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
Rookie, I am new to this forum, having gotten away from the market for the past few years. I went as far as RTP with GW about 6 years ago, but never really made the required effort to succeed. I am coming back with a renewed commitment to do what is necessary to master this skill. Reading over the past posts, I have to commend you for your determination and willingness to share with others someby tpplayer32 - Trading Discussion
