I just got an e-mail from OptionsHouse saying they are now offering mini-options on a few high-priced stocks: AMZN, AAPL, GOOG, and some ETFs. So if you wanted to do W&O on AAPL but couldn't buy $40,000 worth of stock in order to sell options against it, you could be do with a $4,000 basket instead, or more if you wanted to buy multiple contracts.
I wonder if there is any difference in liquidity compared to the normal options. Maybe this will become industry standard and provide more flexibility in doing W&O on the higher priced stocks.
