Purchased @ 10:01 CMG 3 565 Calls @ 12.50 sold @ 1:19 @ 23.50

This was a classic setup for the E and HRFP on the 55,34,21,10,8,5,3, and 1

Reminder I use a 10 8 and 3 S/O uses a 10, 5 and 1.

Now looking at the 10 E chart the stock went sideways but the 5 never crossed below the 10/20 moving average. Rode the sideways move. The option was not being affected. That sudden pop you see on the 10 E chart was a strong signal. As those candles began to get smaller it was a signal for the time to leave.

Money flow was above 70 and reaching 80...too hot....so I left.

Nice trade. I wasn't able to look at charts yesterday or today due to my patient load, but I did get to trade this past Friday. I bought LNKD @ 9:58, 4 March 210 Puts for $7.60. Sold @ 2:25 for $11.35 for a $1500.00 profit. I wanted to stay in the trade but needed to close out since they were calling me to see patients. Still HIS.

I have been so sick that I have hardly been able to get out of bed. I am just starting to get better but not enough to sit up longer than an hour or so.

If you had what I had, my heart goes out to ya. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. If I had any of course :-)

Hang in there, it will go away for sure.

No…I have an autoimmune disease which causes heart problems (slow rate) every now and then. Still not 100%.

Thanks Traildoc...I am slowly coming back to life. This hits me every few years and I can't wait to get back to 100%. Every day gets better. One thing is for sure.... I have been able to sleep, read a lot and catch up on old movies! thumbs up

Hope this jerky market hasn't hurt anyone. It was Quad witching and that usually brings some problems with trading since the market does a fast shift.

I have traded maybe 2 - 3 times this month. I did jump on IBM down when Dan Niles said he was in IBM short. I made about $300.00.

Darcy,

Been worried about you since we haven't heard much from you lately. Glad to hear you're on the mend. I was beginning to wonder if it was me or the market, seems like a lot of quick reversals throughout the day lately. I did catch one good run earlier in the week, but the past few days haven't been so kind. Looking forward to March being over and getting back to a more "normal" market.

Thanks. It has been a son-of-a-gun this time around. Still not 100% and trading from bed is a lot different than trading in my office. S/O moved a TV in here so I could hear the talking heads (volume low believe me) and S/O is in here with me so it isn't too bad. grinning smiley I was told maybe another month and I can actually go to the store! Can't walk much cuz I get breathless...but that's life in the jungle as my S/O and I say.
Enough of that...

This seems to be the sort of market where you need to pay attention (very close attention) to the heavier moving averages. Before entering a trade look where they are. (20, 50, and 200) It wouldn't hurt to put in a 100 moving average for this month. I am and I think I'll make mine light purple!cool smiley That's odd enough to stand out in the crowd.

Measure how much room you have from the candle to the closest moving average. In other words if the stock is moving down and the candle on the 21 chart is @ $261.00 and the heavy moving average such as the 50 is @ $260.00 look somewhere else for a PUT. It is POSSIBLE that the 50 moving average may become support or the stock will move sideways. Look at the 21 chart of CF 9:51 4/2/14 and look at the HRFP signal on 55 and 34 but how much room does it have to move is the question. To me this coud be risky. Stock could go flat for a while. So I look somewhere else.

Remember the Bollinger band is also a moving average and can expand to accomdiate the move.

Watch gaps they can be head fakes.

PS. You need the S&P moving good....

52trade...thank you. I was up today and was able to actually make lunch for the first time in weeks. I have had this all my life.

I think another week and I'll be back to very normal...well normal for me anyway!grinning smiley

I have bee nursing my ISRG trade using the gap off the daily and 233 from 4/1/14 will be selling tomorrow. It is looking a little top heavy. I bought 6 April 500 calls. I almost sold today but right off the open I am selling.

Thank you Dynamike. I am quite a bit better today..up and moving...energy is up.

I really am not liking this market. It is really odd. In my opinion we got too hot too fast. But the talking heads have been saying this market needed a pull back/sell off. They've gotten what they wanted. So I am watchng the DOW, NASDAQ and S&P today, studying and reading and checking out Research Trade stocks.
