This is my latest and greatest indicator combo. What's shown are the three buy signals for today, 3 min chart of SPY. Basically, you're going long after price penetrates the lower band and starts up again, along with the firing of the lower-window indicators. Works good in trending markets but is maybe not so wonderful in chop. Will post specifics as time permits. Really would like toby linter - Trading Discussion

something's wonky w/ your code when i use it. there's some kind of indicator at the bottom of the screen but i can't tell what the signals are. scale gets compressed to a flat line for price.by linter - Trading Discussion

I'm basically still trying to figure things out. Essentially I'm looking for a simple set a rules to (more or less, lol) follow. I've got some ideas but they're a little unformed at the moment. In the next few days (read: next week), I'm going to try to write em down and I'll post them here for you to have a look at. Nothing earth shattering, of course. baffled1: watchlists columns are pretty cool but you can't overload them with too many things else they refuse to function. meanwhile, i can't figure out sugar and how to read it. i made a version of it with arrows for the cross overs and i still couldn't fathom it. care to weigh in at least a little? #SUGAR code declare lower; input price = close; input pricemovavg = 7; input price2by linter - Trading Discussion

with your help, i think i did it: declare lower; def linterTarget = average(close,233); plot Above = close > linterTarget; AssignBackgroundColor (if close > linterTarget then Color.Green else Color.Red); probably don't need the "declare lower" but i'm going to quit while i'm ahead :-). thanks, you two.by linter - Trading Discussion

thanks for that! but ... i did not esplain myself clearly. what i'm after is a custom watchlist *column* for ma233, with a green square for price above and a red one for price below. but ... i do think what you did will prove helpful, 'cause i wasnt able to come up with that scan either on my own. i meant at the shaded area, where it looks like sugar is sloping down. meanwhile, in looking at this stuff on the five min chart, i've been using the 233-period ma as a filter. i'd love to have price > or < 233MA show up on my watchlist. it should be a simple bit of thinkscript but for the life o me, i can't figure out how to do it. there's even a canned watchlist script called pricby linter - Trading Discussion

here's another one using evil algo, %r and slo sto. 5 min chart of 3x biotech bear fund. look at the shaded areas and notice how %r stays high when price retraces through the bands. dang! sadly, sugar does not seem to want to place this trade. sigh. order of lower charts: %R, slo sto, sugar.by linter - Trading Discussion

btw / i recently ran across something similar to your Sugar. in this case, it used two 8-period MAs, one of the open, the other of the close. you might have a look at that.by linter - Trading Discussion

Baffled1: So glad you started this, and I hope others do decide to jump in and offer their thoughts. I haven't spent enough time with the evil algo to know how seriously to take its band-penetration signals, given that they tend to come and go, so I came up with a combo of two indicators, Williams %r and SloSto (5,1) that seem to clear up the picture a bit. okay, my tiny brain spent hours on the task and came up with what i think are the appropriate custom-watchlist-column formulas for CCI and SlowSto as defined above. hey, all: could someone help me out with the following? i'd like a custom watchlist column that turns green when: cci (50) >= 0 AND slow stochastic (5,1) <= 35 (or a different user-set number) and turns red when the two green conditions aren't met. and if there's a way to indicate whether the slo/sto is rising compared to some user set number of days ago or falling, that'd bby linter - Trading Discussion

okay, robert, i believe you. funny you should mention "create alert from drawing." what i could do is go through my watchlist and draw a price line just beneath the opening range high and put an alert on it and then open the stocks all up on a new page like i've seen you do. that might work. seems to me, though, that you once wrote a bit of code that plotted the opening range anby linter - Trading Discussion

hey, robert: here's a nice little inside-day, narrow-range-4 script that i've taken from an old post on the Lawyer Trader blog and wondered if you might be able to do a few things to it for me: i'm soley interested in those times when the yellow dot (NR4) and the violet dot (low volatility) line up right together. oh, wow, that's just great, and i bet tanman is going to love you for it. one thing you might add is an alert message and alarm when the white-line buy is triggered. and yet another edit for yet another suggestions ... how about, in the stop loss bubble, in addition to the price level add the % decline number from entry price. that'd not only tell you the risk but also the potential rewardby linter - Trading Discussion

hello robert! i took your hrfp/fp indicator, the ones with the dotted lines, and tried to add arrows to it, borrowing script from an earlier post in this thread. in the original, i think you had it with one arrow color for both fp up and hrfp up and another for the 2 downs. i wanted to separate them and have four different arrows but i guess you can't have two arrowup or two arrowdn in the sby linter - Trading Discussion
