Curious how you’ll play the gap today, what you’re looking et specifically. I’ve got a few on my radar that I’ll wait on retracement.by NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Yea, the next several days will be key in seeing which direction we choose. The support on GW's monthly 21sma is there at the moment. Time will tellby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Nice. Are you using Alchem or have you gotten over to strictly ToS? Also, are any of you subscribing to all the new real-time money flow offerings out there? I'm trying to spend less time on charts during trading day really and begin to see forest for the trees again - watching flow does opposite for meby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Wow, that was wonderful as well. Any reason that you were watching ROKU at that moment in time? Think I really need to scale down the amount of tickers on my boards. Cheers Darcyby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Love all of this. I also found ZM for a trade upward on Friday. Quad Witching was wild on Friday. It’s been exceedingly difficult to swing anything over weekends lately and most people that have done so based on charting have gotten wrecked (the few folks that I know that trade not in GW rules). I nearly grabbed SPOT March calls Friday afternoon but even a few months out feels like a betterby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Man, this resonates so so much. As a former 1-5 student AND a current S1-s3 and upcoming RTP - I too wish that GW didn’t move away from the intraday work. He adamantly mentions that we need to THROW OUT the old material, and work with nothing but the new. The exit criteria bits have also wrecked me a bit on a couple of occasions and it certainly makes it tough to trust it through and throby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
I see I see, and I love that play. The RBLX one was screaming on the charts. Looking at your trade in hindsight it's pretty great - even with a couple MAs there on the 8, but knowing you'd make your $ before it would hit there. Very nice Darcy. Thanks for the clarification. What a messy day - I've not made any plays, only watching for now. I was considering RIOT but didn't go for it.by NYCSB - Trading Discussion

That's great Darcy. I'm curious though - I'm looking at each of the charts (specifically your setup but with Alchem) and have the candles riding the TBB on the 5,8,21 but yes with no MA resistance. I nearly played NVDA today but got timid with the TBB across the board with the premiums being what they are. Excellent play, especially when you're going by *your* set rules and sticking to it. I'by NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Darcy thanks for the replies. Really love to see your enthusiasm with the work and the trading. Your method makes a lot of sense, especially the MA potentially getting in the way of intraday movement and being weary of that. What are you referring to when speaking of the gaps on the 5/8m charts. I understand gaps, gap fills, etc., but was wondering why you mentioned seeing them on those two chby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Haha, I love some old Spaghetti Westerns... some trade potential couple days back that anyone that truly obeys the 7 hr rule would be well off with today's sell off. It being summertime I didn't trust what seemed to be decision chart signifier and yesterday proved it, however BOOM today it does the thing. Cheersby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Yea, that's pretty nuts. GW doesn't refer to the new signifiers as FP/HRFP and likens much of the old stuff to "Ford" vs the new new to "Ferrari", and although I was well versed in the old, the new stuff is certainly much more involved. I WISH it were as simple as the decision chart indicating a potential trade LOL. At any rate, cheers y'all.by NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Just writing to say I wish the forum was more active! Would be nice to have a space for chatter amongst GW traders whilst keeping it an "on your own" thing. It's fun scouring the site once in a while, but now that I'm more active/approaching the work with more focus, it would be nice to see discussions here. Anywho, cheers y'allby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Thanks Rick, Yea I'm looking for a laptop. I know that traditionally a home setup with a billion monitors would be ideal, but I'm learning toward a laptop for now with a double screener attachment for 3 screens and mobility. Perhaps in the near future I'll dedicate the space needed for proper screens. Appreciate the insight on the resolution - that is certainly something I've been lookinby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Hey all, I'm currently running parallels on an older Mac and am about to bite the bullet on getting a new system. I'm looking to go back to PC and get some screen extensions (i.e. Xebec) to stay as mobile as possible. Any input on PC's? I'm looking mostly for solid outdoor screen resolution and anything at this point will outperform my current setup and I'm also thrilled to get off workingby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
So true re: stocks that move and the correlating premiums/pricing. I’ve definitely got a large handful that I’m still trying to whittle down to a full on GW basket instead of the super volatile intraday plays that I was doing a la old 1-5 techniques. So hard not to look at intraday plays and small charts now that I’m truly trying to stick to S1 rules and even dipping into the small pigby NYCSB - Trading Discussion

Hey friends, So I'm doing some research this eve and have been trying out Alchem on Gary's strong rec/suggestion/demand(?) and, other than it being frustrating af to toggle between what I'm used to (ToS), downloading and utilizing Windows on my Mac, and just learning the program passably, I noticed a big discrepancy in todays price listing on $COMPQ/(NDX on ToS). Have I just been in frontby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Thanks kindly for the reply Dan. I recall paying for Qcharts for my year of papertrading - THAT was rough in 2006 as a recent grad and grinding a couple jobs. I will likely use download the Alchem/workstation for now since I'm fresh from class and see what that's like, though I'm also feeling good about where I am with TOS and some recently added indicators, etc. And also, special thanks toby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
I appreciate the sentiment, and yea it rings true coming out of the weekend, but I've taken with him starting in 2007 and had many ups and downs - expectations are certainly tempered. I am looking to put in a lot of work this go around and won't stop until I feel incredibly comfortable with both wins and losses, but at least doing it right and keeping it more simple than I have been. I've in theby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
That is SO true re: confidence and it getting shaken out of you. It's inspiring coming out of a wknd with Gary (of course) and I hope to, after closing some stupid trades I'm currently in, get back to a proper discipline starting from (nearly) scratch.by NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Very true. I actually was holding some long GME calls and sold early January at a small loss. Damnit. I have to say, after taking 1-5 SO many moons ago and then survivor just this weekend, I'm excited/mildly overwhelmed to get back into GW's system. I've certainly strayed and need to break some habits.by NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Yea, he basically dislikes both sides of the mess and suggests of course to pay no mind to any of "that kinda stuff"by NYCSB - Trading Discussion
So are you guys using ToS instead of Alchem? What are the benefits of Alchem that I don't/can't get with ToS? I think I have the full parameters of GWs current settings minus a/w, but was thinking of using Alchem/GW proper workstation to test it for a bitby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Hey y’all Been lurking/interacting for a while now - kinda wish forum was more active but as it goes. I was hoping to get a refresher course of sorts, as it’s been 14 years now since my first 1-5. I’ve luckily got my charts set up (ToS now) with GW parameters which is nice, but a refresher seems in order. Where can I find info on taking online class? Haven’t seen much... Cheersby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Yes, true re: ThinkScript - I've noticed that of course. I at some point have gone through lots of old threads and found some good knowledge and recognized a couple folks from friends of friends back in the day. Some good material back there... If I have any upcoming trades, I'll certainly post. I did play a call one month out on BLNK using short charts and got a bit lucky, as it moved much morby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
@White Rose Funny, I looked back at some notes and I was eyeing that trade on V but left my (meager) workstation without setting an entry. Looked to be a pretty good one! Cheers and thanks for posting here, I miss sharing trades after the fact with friends I went through the course(s) with (14 years ago!)by NYCSB - Trading Discussion
@Acquire Currency, Cool, I'll just text Gary lol. I too signed an NDA about 14 years ago. I will sort it all out, thanks kindly. @RichieRick Appreciate the sentiment. Uff, I recall myself and a buddy each paying for charts that first year and only making practice trades, scrounging together enough money for our trading baskets on day 366! What a time and great memory. I still somehow reallby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
Hi nimble/all So I haven't traded/used QCharts since I stopped trading regularly several years ago. I've been creeping back in the past few months but using TOS and trying to use the parameters Gary had us set up (I took 1-5 MANY moons ago, fall of 2006). Can someone help me with the parameters as they are? I'm likely going to get back to QCharts after the night and day differences from whatby NYCSB - Trading Discussion
