This is fabulous Darcy, thank you! I back tested it on Sept 13 2023 on QQQ. Opening at 9:35 I had E moving averages all across my time frames going up and the macd and stochRSI backing up the move. It was saying GO! So I put the 200, 100, and 50 on the chart on the 21 time to see what I could see. The 100 crossed the 200 going down and the 50 was pressing against the 20. I'm going to tip toe into this conversation. I have been practicing for more than 10 years, every day all day because I had a night job. I am grateful for GW's foundation. I never could have traded without him. But I don't trade like GW. I took his foundation and added my way to it. I have learned so much from all of you on this forum. Darcy you are a rock star. Work in Progress Thank you so much! I have purchased The Mental Game of Trading by Jared Tendler. Looks great and I didn't know about it. Your other ideas are very sound and I will implement them into my reading habit.by Grateful - Trading Discussion
You had me get out my list of the books he recommended, 152 of them. Out of that I have or have read 34. The one I am reading now, (not on the list) which is so fantastic and helpful is With Winning in Mind by Lanny Bassham. He writes about Mental tools, and I have been able to "get" the mental tools better. He interviewed Olympic gold winners to get in their head. He hby Grateful - Trading Discussion
RichieRick thank you for letting us know about confidence. Things would turn on me and I would fight to figure out what happened. After a few tears I would break down each move to see where I missed it. You really helped with that (along with big money) telling me to turn off my candles. Wow, I was a candle watcher. When I turned them off, I was able to see more of my indicators and was ableby Grateful - Trading Discussion
Oh Darcy I am so very sorry! You and your S/O have been instrumental in helping so many people. I would not be where I am today without you and him. You are so gifted in your teaching and it was such a pleasure to read about your gunslinger and his magic touch with the market. I know that this forum would be different without you and your blessing us. You have all my thoughts and prayers aby Grateful - Trading Discussion
I am so sorry, I am confused. On my play back of May 3 for AAPL the candles were above the 20 moving average. On the 34 chart. I don't play AAPL so I am not familiar with it. All my indicators except my 2 minute were saying go on AAPL. But from learning that little information from you I could play AMZN. On AMZN which I play ,around 9:35 GWs indicators were saying down. Again Darcy thank you so very much! You have given me a " look at the forest not the tree" puzzle piece. The 20 moving average advice just helped me see the forest, so I can make better "when to get in" decisions. I am purely technical so I watch the "trees" and with your advice now I can see more of the move before it happens. I look forward to seeing thby Grateful - Trading Discussion
Darcy!!!!!!!!!!! I have so wanted to thank you and didn't think I would ever get the opportunity. Your help in what you posted has been golden. Also all the others during that time you were all here helping us with your advice and comments. Thank you from all that is within me! I am only doing GW's old stuff and your added E. If anyone is interested, I back tested the strange strike price 125.71 with the strike price 125.00. The 125.71 strike price moved 50 cents, and the 125 strike price moved 55 cents. The 125.71 strike price went below the bid price I started with by 5 cents, while the 125 strike price jumped by 20 cents so it never went below the original bid price. During a time when the 125.71 strike prby Grateful - Trading Discussion
Thank you so very much! That is very helpful. My life just got so much easier.by Grateful - Trading Discussion
Thank you! I guess I am referring to using a strike price that has the highest amount of action. GW said to use strike prices in the 5's but now they do not have the most action. The ones that are odd have the most people buying puts and calls. So if I stay with the strike prices that are in the 5's, (but do not have much action, people buying that strike) will I be able to sell when my inby Grateful - Trading Discussion
I have noticed in the past months that the strike prices with a higher rate of open interest have changed. Usually according to GW we would use the strike prices that were in 5's. 105, 110,115 etc. But lately the strike prices with the higher amount of open interest have been 104.77 or 123.52 or 111.67. So when I want to use 100, the open interest is 463. But the 101.77 strike price has 5,0by Grateful - Trading Discussion
Welcome! As RichieRick said, most of GW students have gone silent. But you can read back as far as you can on the old forums. You will be able to pick out his students and read everything you can from them. Some are small chart and some are big chart. I have learned so much from both. They were very helpful and went into detail. I picked back up from GW's 2003 classes. I am followingby Grateful - Trading Discussion
Thank you! The ADX DI you created is different from what I have. The rest is the same, from GW's settings. I look forward to testing it out.by Grateful - Trading Discussion
