You just have to keep trying and figure out what works. Nothing is going to work all of the time. I'm finally getting comfortable with losses and that seems to be the key for me. I also don't hold overnight. I like to be in and out the same day. The last trade that I held through the weekend made me money, but I got lucky. So I'm not really following Gary's recipe to the letter. I do appreciaby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
If I remember correctly, he said those were God's numbers. I'm not taking one side or the other. I'm just repeating what he said. As a successful person told me, "Find what works for you and keep doing that over and over." djpl8by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I've never used the MARK price as the stop... OCO/bracket orders I do use. We all are a little crazy for taking on this endeavor. LOLby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
My practice trade went from a $1,200 profit to a $2,000 loss LOL. I was busy at work and didn't set a stop. I'm looking forward to fall/winter for obvious reasons.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
NCTrader, thanks for the response. Definitely explained to me what i was wondering. Best of luck to you also.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I'm an old Gary Williams classes 1-5 student... I'm curious, did anyone catch this pullback and buy puts off of Gary's newer, big chart style of trading. I am not trying to get any proprietary info, just curious about the mindset and manner of the type of trading he is teaching now and if anyone caught this selloff.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I'm guessing the 75" is a 4K TV? Now that is a monitor! I've asked the techs at BestBuy if a 4K TV would be good for a monitor, but I always get mixed answers. Take careby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Just my opinion... for whatever that is worth. If you are going to get monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080, do not go over 24", they will have a washed out, grainy look to them. If you are going to go 2K, 2560x1440, then you will be OK with a 27". If you don't mind spending money then go for 4k, with a resolution of 3840x2160, but then you are looking at 32' to 43" monitors.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
If you do your research on this lady/trader she went bankrupt and lost a huge amount of $$$$$$$$.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Trader - I like you're perspective. The end of the year is usually down or choppy like you said. The people I know who day trade took this week off and are taking a break. I enjoy reading you're views on the market. Take careby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
fireman1984, Very good advice. Sometimes we don't see the forest for the trees. I'm guilty as charged, but I'm opened minded and I'm changing the way I look at everything. Thank you, I appreciate the words of wisdom.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I appreciate the analysis from the GW chartists... Here is another one I'm checking out. AMZN has the following: 1. Weekly- Green candle with the wick touching the BBB, histogram turning up but the indicators are not yet there. 2. Daily- Christmas cross going up, indicators starting to turn up with the DMI not crossing yet and the MA's leveling out. 3. 233- Christmas cross going up MA's sby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Fireman1984, Thank you for the analysis. "The 233 and D MA's are turning down..." It's almost funny how something so simple was overlooked by me. It appears that you are right about this stock. Thanks againby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Here is one for a few comments... I'm curious what the veteran GW chartists think of EQIX, even though the S&P futures are down 9.75 points as I write this at 9:17am. As I look at the charts, EQIX has a green candle on the weekly on the BBB. On the daily there are two green candles and the major indicators are turning up to cross, On the 233 there are four green candles and it is moving off oby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Fireman1984, I see what you did You look for the weekly to be coming off of the BBB and the 50SMA as support for RUT. I'm getting better with the "big chart picture", that's why I didn't try to trade AMZN. I was thinking what you said about the weekly in a position to turn over... Moving from a short charts/day trading mindset has been rough, but I'm really starting to dig swiby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Fireman1984, I almost sent you a message when I saw AMZN on the 233 a few days ago. About a perfect HRFP, but it was below the 50SMA and we were going into the election. Gary warned us about trading before big news events and I surely was not going to gamble on this one. I'm glad to see you post on here. What do you think?by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Amen, chart reading and big charts all the way!!!!by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Figured I would add some humor lol. We all need to laugh sometimes.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
baffled1 You will find out with trading the ES mini, you will buy what you used to sell and sell what you used to buy and then you will make $. You have to have a sense of humor to trade futures LOL.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I'm going chime in and add to the discussion on trading futures. If you want to blow out multiple accounts, trade futures. The HFT programs will eat you alive if you are going for 2 points with a 2 point stop on the S&P emini contract. I have traded futures off and on for the last 5 years without much success. As stated above, stocks are where the money is at. Also, all of the futures tradingby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Thank you for the info. That was a lot of advice, I did't expect that, but I appreciate it. No, i'm not as hard on myself about trades anymore. I'm starting to learn that losses are part of the process and as long as you make money you are going to have to learn to emotionally accept losses. I'm still trying to get the 233 mindset down for larger swing trades.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Don't feel bad... I bought calls on amazon on 11-11-15 after noon of that day. I was up about $1850.00 at the close and got greedy. The next morning the 1850.00 was gone plus 300 to 400 more. Lol. I dumped the position quick and thought of the GW story about the "train going over the cliff." I'm working on trading off of the big charts to get away from this kind of trading. Take care.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
I dont't trust this market either.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Just curious... are those real money trades? If they are, awesome job scalping!!!by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
It will be time to buy it soon. AMZN did the same thing not too long ago.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Thank you, explains it for me... Reminds me of a book my father had, Kill or be Killed. Woke me up to the fact you should fear no one.by djpl8 - Trading Discussion

Funkho Not to give away anything for free... does RTT show long term/big chart trends for the stocks earnings/trends? Day trading and short term swing trading is hard to do. I would be curious if it is possible to trade these like BCT and Fireman 1984 do?by djpl8 - Trading Discussion
Trading can be a pain in the behind, emotions that you never knew you had will come to the forefront when you win or lose. Money is very important to us and the lack of money can cause anyone to make rash decisions to change their situation in life. I think we over think the obvious... and if we would just buy the pullbacks in an up trending market and sit through the chop we would make a killinby djpl8 - Trading Discussion
