NCTrader, Can you share the title and author with us? Thanksby jslavell - Trading Discussion
Funkho, Keep up the good work!!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Would it be safe to say that after 6 months with this approach you have a gain of $876.00?by jslavell - Trading Discussion
I can fit 8, but while the top row,are Gary's SMSW/ FP/HRFP charts, the bottom are "e" (I call them epsilon charts) with the MFI. The main reason this works for me is that I am using a 39" HDTV for my monitor. Lolby jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy, Please continue. I need the motivation now more than ever after a couple of losing trades !!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
I took the new survivor 1 about a year ago. Even though I had taken 1-5, I still had to pay $1500.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Rookie and others, I don't see either a FP or a HRFP On the 55, 34, 21 or 13. I saw them on Thursday afternoon... Does that count? I wouldn't think so... Too much momentum already gone? How do different folks interpret this? I'm still studying and learning. I made a successful practice play on AAPL off the 13 chart at 1140. Had a FP, MF, DF, iffy "e" on the 13. More like a "zby jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy, I noticed that VZ went down through the 8/28 gap on 9/3 and rose back up through it on the 12th... didn't that constitute a gap closing and eliminate it as a support/resistance level? Just trying to understand gaps better.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
I am on this bandwagon too. I spotted this as passing Rookie's criteria and did a practice trade. H.I.S.! I am so grateful for Darcy and Rookie and everyone else who is sharing their experience.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
You could start by reading through the posts. Darcy has explained it at least 25 times.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy2, Based on this, what would you say about NFLX today? It looks to me as though some FPs and the E signal on the 10 form about 1030? Could have been a good trade.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Thanks Darcy! Obviously, it is time to listen to the 1-5 CD's again! And thanks again to everybody who posts here. The recent posts about adapting the "E" chart to big chart trades have been awesome! IMHO stuff like this makes RTT a bargain.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy, "Strictly on the candle count I knew I wanted to watch MA for the down" I don't quite follow... on all the charts there were a mix of up and down candles that day... or did you mean the two dojis on the daily on the two prior days?by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy, I wanted to thank you as well for your postings. I greatly appreciate it! I am in the "practice for a year" phase after a return to trading after a few years. I was wondering, will you be adjusting the time frames on your four main charts for the summer trading zone?by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Rookie, I applaud you for trying to help others by funding their attendance to SMSW. But I have learned, as perhaps you have, that people will be more serious and get more out of Gary's classes if they pay for it themselves. Learned that the hard way. I think you are helping far more people here by sharing your experiences and knowledge and I thank you for it.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Rookie, Several years ago I lost big $ because of the transition to summer. In fact it was right around this date. I got frustrated and went away for a while. Now I'm back. But your advice is excellent and right on the money, so to speak!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy, awesome post! That clears up some ADX misconceptions I have had. Thank you for sharing!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
"I guess what I am wondering, without asking anyone to divulge proprietary information, is what new things and indicators are in the Survival Weekends that were not in the 1-5, RTP and DE classes?" I think to answer this would be, by definition, violating the non-disclosure agreement we signed.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Awesome post Darcy, thank you for sharing your experiences!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
I was wondering what the readers here think about briefing.com... is it worth the $65/month they now charge foe the basic service "In Play" ? A few years ago, it was $9.99/month. Not sure if this content is the same as it was. Thanks for any comments you may have!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy, Did you know this was going to be a peak play because of the fact that they had actually missed earnings by a penny according to some estimates, yet it still gapped up? or was it mostly just the gap up that had you watching for a pullback? I'm struggling with accurate interpretation of gaps. Exhaustion vs. continuation etc. Back to studying! Thanks as always!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Darcy, I have Technical analysis for dummies on a kindle iPad app which won't show page numbers. What section (from the table of contents) is pages 220-223 in? Thank you!by jslavell - Trading Discussion
I got my info from TD Ameritrade tech support, but that was a few months ago...by jslavell - Trading Discussion
TD Ameritrade told me that they are no longer supporting strategy desk, and eventually, it will go away. I stopped using it and switched to TOS that day. TOS is a bit more cumbersome in a couple of ways, but at least it's a going-concern. You CAN use a 233, 8 or any other custom time frame in TOS. In the chart, under the style icon, choose intraday, 20 days, custom, and enter 03:53 (233 minuteby jslavell - Trading Discussion
There is a playback feature in TOS That allows you to look back more than 20 days. It is called Think On Demand. You can access it by clicking the "OnDemand" button in the upper-right corner of the live trading application.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
Gary shut down the Achievers Choice Quest Website. As of now, he only offers the "stock Market Survival Weekend" series of classes. There are three of them. I took the first in November and recommend it. It only covers basic position trading of options using earnings and splits as catalysts. I assume the second and third classes will cover some of the other types of plays he used to teaby jslavell - Trading Discussion
Here is the schedule he handed out: January 4, 5, 6 Survivor weekend #1 February 1, 2, 3 Survivor weekend #2 May 31, June 1, 2 Survivor weekend #1 July 12, 13, 14 Survivor weekend #2 September 6, 7, 8 Survivor weekend #1 October 4, 5, 6 Survivor weekend #2 November 1, 2, 3 Survivor weekend #3by jslavell - Trading Discussion
I took Gary's Survival Weekend I class this past weekend, and I would like to encourage those who need some guidance to take this class. He lowered the price to $1500, and I think it will stay there. It is one of three different survival weekends, meant to be taken after a few months of successful trading following the preceding one. It is a pretty clear set of rules, quite different than the oldby jslavell - Trading Discussion
Qcharts can't run on an iPad, they don't have an app. That was one thing I looked into when trying to decide if I wanted to continue using Qcharts. I use TD Ameritrade's ThinkorSwim, which has most of Qcharts' functionality, but it's free with an account.by jslavell - Trading Discussion
