Monitor Size

To the users of multiple monitors. Do you use 24" or 27" monitors? I will be purchasing monitors for trading soon and I would like some input on monitor size. ARE 24" monitors large enough? Would you recommend 27" monitors? I already have been using 19" and they are just not cutting it anymore. I would hate to buy 24" monitors and miss out on the realestate the 27" offers. On the other hand if 24" monitors will do I don't want to over pay or take up the extra space. Please chime in with your experience.

Just my opinion... for whatever that is worth. If you are going to get monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080, do not go over 24", they will have a washed out, grainy look to them. If you are going to go 2K, 2560x1440, then you will be OK with a 27". If you don't mind spending money then go for 4k, with a resolution of 3840x2160, but then you are looking at 32' to 43" monitors. With a Dell 43" 4k monitor ($900+ the last time I checked) you are effectively using one monitor instead of 4, 23" 1920x1080 monitors. It really comes down to how you are trading, day trader vs swing trader (Gary Williams student) or something else. With monitor prices dropping you could buy 3, 23" or 24" 1920x1080 monitors for less than $200 a piece or as cheap as $109 a piece when BestBuy or someone has them on sale. I use 2, 23" Dell IPS 1920x1080 monitors and I get along fine for now. Also, go for IPS monitors for the bright colors and great viewing angles. Hope this helps.

I use 5 monitors. 3 24 inch monitors. 1 40 inch monitor. 1 75 inch monitor. no such thing as to much real estate.

Trader, your trading room must be huge. What do you use a 75 inch monitor for?

ncptech I use the 75" with these charts.

$VOLD 15 min

$ADVN-DECN 15min

$TICK 15 min

Cumulative Tick 15 min

Intraday Volume Measure 15min

All used for fast trading and intraday moves to tell me when to get in and out or just stay put.

VIX 2 year daily

SPX 1 year daily

DJI 1 year daily

COMP 1 year daily

SPX 3 month daily with auto fibs and ma's

Roberts rising tide with 50ma daily

Roberts rising tide with 200 ma daily

put call ratio indicator daily

All used for longer term picture moves.

Watchlist with stocks most up during day. my stock list only

Watchlist with stocks most down during day. my stock list only

Watchlist with my most tradable stocks. 26 of them now.

Its a bit of overkill but if I cant see that then I cant see anything. I really hate to be bopping around screens and looking at different charts. So basically I want it fixed for the 75" the 24s are the same, fixed. nothing changes. Only the 40" directly in front of me is used to rifle thru 12 grids with 138 charts. For the record a device they sell on amazon allows you to use more hdmi monitors on your rig. this allowed me to use 3 more monitors with my video card. I think it cost like 139.00 bucks. So later if you see the need for more monitors you can add on. Hope I was helpful my friend!

Club3D DisplayPort 1.2 to 3 HDMI Multi-Display MST Hub (CSV-5300H)

just noticed they sell one with 4 ports now. I would have purchased that one if they had it then. make sure this is right for your application!

I'm guessing the 75" is a 4K TV? Now that is a monitor! I've asked the techs at BestBuy if a 4K TV would be good for a monitor, but I always get mixed answers. Take care
