Sig 6pm ET 2/29/16, Entry 7pm ET, stopped out on that bar.
Sig 10pm ET 2/29/16, Entry 11pm ET, stopped out 1 bar later when Low went to EXACTLY my 5-pt stoploss. Then it ran like a wild turkey. Woulda shoulda coulda. That's the second or third time a tight stop blew me out of some profit, right?
So now I'm thinking that's enough trades to convince me that my stops are too tight. NEW RULES ON PINCHERPLAY ALGO:
On an Hourly chart:
1. For /ES I'll enter Long at the Open of the next bar after signal.
2. Stoploss of
6.0 points (on Entry bar).
3. Hold until any bar after my first bar drops
7.0 points from its open, a kind of trailing stop. In real life, if I got a huge spike up, I'd probably take profit, but we gotta have rules, right?
4. I may post for Daily or other periods with different parameters.
