5/17/24 AMD... We all know that the closer an option gets to the expiration month the more the cost of that option falls. But when a stock opens with a strong up or down on expiration Friday that option will quickly change in price rising in the direction of the open. That is what happened with AMD today. It had a huge pop up in the open so I jumped on a call knowing this trade would rise quickly. I got in for 1.82 and bought 15 contracts. I quickly put in a GTC for 2.50 (3 cents lower than how this trade rose). Got in at 9:37 and out at 9:38. BTW this could have also been played as a put using the 5 or 8 minute chart.
