Price Consolidation / Price Channel Scan - thinkorswim

Hello,

This is my first post here. I really hope someone can help me.

Can someone please advise the code or settings needed to create a TOS thinkorswim consolidating price scan?

I would like the price scan to search for stocks that have been consolidating for x amount of days before the breakout occurs.

The x would be an input I could edit and play around with; say 2, 5, 10, etc.

Here is an example image:

Also, is it possible to create a TOS scan for stocks that have been in a price channel before the breakout occurs.

Here is a stock price channel example:

THANK YOU for any help offered!

Tennisguy,

Take a look at this post as a guide to creating a scan: [www.researchtrade.com]

The first thing you need to decide is what is "consolidation?" Does consolidation mean the stock is within the Bollinger Bands for X number of days? Within 1 standard deviation of a moving average for X days? Within the Keltner channels for X days?

After you define what consolidation means to you, start working through the steps in the post referenced above.
